There are so many fanboys here that want to vote for their aircraft, LOL.

And SAAB has experience in developing trainer aircraft and training simulators.
They can use the datalink from the simulator.
Probably a lot more experience than LM.

Boeing F-15, F/A-18, Gripen, Boeing Vertol/Chinook.
Seems fairly similar.

F-35 is not exactly something giving a good reputation for project management,
while Gripen E is exactly on time.

I think Boeing/SAAB will win for political reasons. F18 is going to get retired, f15 will get retired. Northrop has Stealth Bomber contract and will probably have future bomber monopoly, Lockheed has f35 with massive problems and congress hates them. Tejas/JF17, US will NEVER buy large contract international aircraft models over domestic. Raytheon/
Aermacchi, Raytheon the radar/microwave/misslie company, and an Italian company? No chance, the airplane looks ugly compared to other models and is a Russian design, and Raytheon has no/little aircraft experience, so no. Textron, maybe, but looks like small company and probably weak lobbying power. Textron's aircraft, the airland scorpion is also only a subsonic trainer. Which is likely unacceptable. Boeing needs the contract the most, so they will likely win.

market is crowded with 4th gen fighters. 2nd hand f16s are probably better deal.
