Blinken says US will assess Pakistan ties over Afghanistan's future

US is likely to ask Pakistan to allow for access to its airspace. Only via Pakistan can US strike at unfriendly targets inside Afghanistan.

What would be the best (and practical) way for Pakistan to negotiate with US on this matter? :-)

Wish they can kick us out of the non NATO membership sooner then latter so they are left themselves with no straws. They want to start a new circus of "do more" with Pakistan all over again. US agreement in Doha is with Taliban not with us so US should open up their embassy in Kabul and have a direct blame game with them. We are not in NATO, QUAD or haven't got membership of any other clubs of black art. US must go and get a life and shack up with Modi and let us get on with ours.

biggest mistake they have in their assumptions is that they are dealing with a legacy gov of pito nawj and Zadari

reassessment and realignment only means one thing, another cry "to do more" for Pakistan.

Pakistan should try to show the two fingers, British way, or middle finger American way, or the left hand hitting the right near elbow to show the whole arm in, French way.
The meanings of all three symbols are the same.
The french way is better for India, always.

This administration has been very rude to you. So strange considering all these years they have wanted a full democracy in Pakistan and now there is one and they are engaging passive aggressively? Do they want an idiotic corrupt tyrant in charge and then they get friendly?
F them, we did things right for our intrests which didn't collide with thier intrests

This was bound to happen but it is what it is

Only issue is we should have started shifting our economy from west to Asia atleast 5-10 years ago

But we started the process only 1-2 years, so this might be painful for a couple of years

They will not put God forbid Sanctions on Pakistan right?

Even if they did, it is not the end of the world by any means for Pakistan. Just look at Iran and North Korea. They are managing being on the black list quite well, it seems.

No i mean they will not put any kind Iran type Sanctions right? I mean why they want Pakistan off side completely so that Afghanistan gets out of their reach?

Hell nah, I doubt they'll put Russia type sanctions tbh

It is a choice for Pakistan to make whether it want to meet FATF standards, or not.

I don't think they meant that. He said what role we want Pakistan to play and what it take to do that. It means that they want Pakistan under their radar and it can be pressures like from IMF etc. The question that senator that asked was about Pakistan non nato ally list to review so his response was this. It seems like USA in wait and watch type of mode.

Incorrect. IMF is not there to exert any pressure. It is Pakistan's failure to meet its economic requirements that make it decide to seek to be rescued by IMF as a lender of last resort. Demonizing IMF is simply a dishonest tripe to cover up the true root cause.

Nah, Army called the shots then and they still do...

And they haven't given any indication that they will be upending the status quo of their commitment to provide an air corridor, e.g. recent drone strike in Kabul that killed ten people from an extended family.

I do not think they meant any kind of sanctions. It was a question based on non nato ally status and we will look days or weeks, what will it take and what role they want blala. What i think is that they want put pressure on Pakistan other ways. Otherwise, they would not command Pakistan to wait, do not recognize Taliban and play a role making sure Taliban agree to their commitment.

If something was off than he would not have invited Pakistan in Virtual conference and CIA would not have General Bajwa. What i think is that they are

There is no such thing as strong enough pressure that can make any country go against its own national interests in international geopolitics.

If the Taliban announce a billion dollar deal with the US for weapons, they would become America’s number one ally in the war of terror overnight.

America has no morals and no set diplomatic goals and values, it’s a lumbering giant kicking the planet around for the sake of it.

When was the last time Pakistan placed a billion dollar deal with US for weapons ?
