Nowadays TTP is focusing only on attacking Pak army....attacks on shia are done by LEJ and other sectarian outfits.
Turning of LET against TTP shows that punjabi taliban were not entirely under command of Mehsud-led taliban.....they are reverting back to their daddy.

LeJ was operating under the banner of TTP, this angered TTP and Afghan Taliban tried to make peace b/w the two.

If you remember a week or so back, there were reports of a war b/w the two Talibans and others.

In my humble opinion TTP, Al-Qaida, LeJ & SSP are all cut from the same block. They use verses from the holy Quran out of context, use little known Hadith and fatwas from obscure Mullahs to justify their action as doing Allah’s work.

Politicians such Munawwar Hassan of JI & Rana Sana Ullah of PML-N, , retired generals such as Hamid Gul, TV anchors, Urdu media columnists, judges, lawyers , members of the security forces as well as members of this forum; have been effected by this poison. Some madrasahs are still churning out scores of die-hard bigots who have no skills beneficial to society but are expert killers in the name of Islam.

New Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisaar admitted that despite so many check posts, terrorists managed to bring in truck loads of explosives.

If a policeman thinks that he will go to heaven by helping a Lej terrorist killing a few Shias, he would not stop him at the check post. For this the State needs to control what the mullah says from the pulpit and thoroughly scrutinize syllabus of all madrasahs. Additionally, membership of all lashkhars/ militant organizations etc. should be made a criminal offence. Organizations should not be allowed to continue just by changing the name (Jamiat Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat in place of SSP). Basically you need to change the mind-set before you can put a stop to such killings. Do we see Statesmen strong willed enough to carry out this task?

Sadly ‘NO’. Ruling PML-N with ministers such as Rana Sanaullah with links to the sectarian SSP is most ill equipped to stop this carnage.

As a direct result of this indiscriminate killing in the name of Islam FDI has all but disappeared from Pakistan. Even Pakistani entrepreneurs are investing in Bangla Desh & Africa. Even ignoring 18 hours without power and no gas; pray tell who would want to invest in Pakistan where one risks being kidnapped for ransom or being blown up when out shopping or offering prayers in a mosque. If all else doesn’t happen, he may be target killed because he may have rubbed an employee or a competitor the wrong way.

Target killing of Shias, MQM & ANP office bearers is nothing new, but 2 of PTI MPA’s have also been killed. What crime these newly elected MPA’s were guilty of? Sometimes I wonder if strong belief in the religion which means peace turns one into a cold blooded killer?

No matter how optimistic I try to be, I am compelled to admit that cancer of extremism, sectarianism and taking law into your hands has steeped so deep in Pakistani society that the patient appears to be beyond cure.

I sincerely hope that I am wrong as I would like the country of my birth to again become a liberal & progressive country that Pakistan was until the hell rotting Zia usurped power.

PESHAWAR: Law enforcement agencies have arrested two suspects involved in a gun-and-bomb attack on Friday which killed 16 people at a mosque in Peshawar, officials said.

Sources told Dawn.com on Saturday that the suspects, one said to be in his 20’s and the other in his 30’s, were arrested and taken to Lady Reading Hospital after they were injured following a grueling gun-battle with security forces.

Officials said the two suspects were later shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Exclusive video footage and photographs of the suspects received by Dawn.com show that one of them was severely injured with multiple bullet wounds and head injuries.

The suspect was allegedly shooting at worshipers inside the Madrassa Hussainia mosque and was injured after his accomplice blew up his suicide vest.

Officials claimed the two suspects were arrested on a tip-off after law enforcement agencies arrested at least 25 suspects during a search operation in Gulbahar, Haji Camp and Gulshan Colony areas.

Police did say yesterday that there were 3 attackers in all, and the Policeman deputed outside shot at one fireman.

All these areas are near ringroad right?

A same situation is up with Tarnol near Islamabad...loads of criminals hide there. Police and FC did do some ops over there under Rehman Malik but then something happened and that area is a free for all again.

There has been arrests in the past too... but with such corrupt judiciary no one makes it to the trial rooms... and we don't hear about the arrestees either.

I personally want these scumbags to be made an example of... hang one or two in a Bazar or a densely populated area and see what wonders it does for the security of every Pakistani as a whole... but with this judiciary, who only sees the wrongdoings of Army and Agencies, I've very less hope these scumbags would get any punishment.
