Yes they are shameless but not brainless... Indian companies are looking for investment in bangladesh for years now due to the huge untapped potential bangladesh has along with other benefit like duty free export to USA and EU...of bangladeshi made products... Do not forget bangladesh has been mentioned as one of the next eleven country from which even pakistan has been excluded in recent report... This is not only india but investor from all around the world wants to invest in bd but relatively poor infrastructure and less power production are the main problem... but just watch in the next couple of years how things gonna change when mainly power production increases.

despite the hatred of some BD members and the obvious sarcasm of Indians, Indo-BD relations are progressing really well, and both stand to gain from this. Just recently BD's textile exports clocked 43% growth rate.
A full on FTA between the two, resolved boundaries and transit protocols will go a long way to benefit people of both countries.

in addition, the labour apart from the Management will be Bangladeshis and these ventures will have to have a BD person as a joint owner too!

Try to understand comment before posting crap... Who was talking about the bhartis investment in my last post...??? I was just saying why Indian and others are interested to invest in Bangladesh... N please stop your india thumping and bangladesh insignificant type posts. No body give a damn to India... The country had much lower per capita gdp then bangldesh up to 1970... n up to 1992 had almost same per capita gdp. This is the destruction caused by liberation war and poor vision and corruption among the political partied hindered the growth of Bangladesh. Even with such a poor electricity production bangladesh had achieved 6.7% gdp growth in 2005 and it was expected by now bangladesh will touch around 8-10% gdp growth by now. But it faced another set back during the time line of caretaker government. But again bangladesh is gradually coming in to track.. of getting 7% gdp growth by this year, 8% by 2013 and expecting to have 10% gdp growth by 2017. Just watch how it will propel if bangladeshi government can take care of the power and infrastructure ... Bangladesh is already in a good position to take most of the diversified chinise manufacturing business if power and infra is improved.

That was known as east pakistan but it had a gdp along with per capita gdp...separated from west pakistan. Up to then bangladesh had not only higher per capita gdp then India but also higher then China.

Even in 1975 bangladesh had higher per capita gdp then India... n if you look up to 1992 both had almost same per cpita gdp. Just wondering what went wrong for bangladesh after that... lack of vision, not doing enough reform, not tried to invest in power and infra... ??? whats your opinion.
