I wouldn’t like to go into a debate on this because it would turn into you said vs I said. But, Pakistan started 1947-48 war, 1965 war and Kargil conflict. Yes, 1971 was Indian act with a decisive result.

Kargil was done right after the Indian Prime minister had taken a bus ride to Pakistan to start peace process. Musharraf had some other plans and that probably was the last time that Indian state would believe Pakistan. There are enough interviews by Musharraf in which he has accepted and explained the logic too.

So peaceful dove narrative by Pakistan has no takers here.
