1.It would lead to Japan and South Korea developing powerful anti-missile defences as well as possible japanese rearmament with nuclear weapons, which would be great setback for China in the region.
2.With a concrete nuke program, basically kim holds China hostage..they can never abandon him. He can blackmail the Chinese. If he goes down in any way he may well go down after nuking the whole region from seoul, tokyo to beijing.

This is a very dangerous development,china needs to organize a coup or assassination to deal with this mad dictator. Keep NK if necessary, but stop the nuclear programme.
