Beautiful Post : Kashmir - SarthakGanguly's Logical Comment

The Simla Agreement is what is important, and what it says remains pretty clear, whether anyone is able to accept that or not does nothing to reduce its meaning and importance.

I never rejected Simla agreement. I just don't agree with your interpretation or misinterpretation of it.

It does not matter if you choose to misinterpret it, since the United Nations understands it exactly as I have described it above. That is what matters here.

Not really. Not true.

Ban Ki-moon ready to mediate on Kashmir issue - thenews.com.pk

UNITED NATIONS: Expressing sorrow over the recent outbreak of violence in Jammu and Kashmir, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has underscored the need for Pakistan and India to resolve the “longstanding” issue, saying his good offices are available if both sides agree to his mediation.

“While I am saddened by the loss of lives in the course of all this conflict, I am relatively, reasonably encouraged by the recent move by both the sides to engage in dialogue, to resolve their source of conflict through dialogue — that I will strongly welcome and support,” the secretary-general said in an interview with the UN-based correspondents of APP before his departure for Islamabad for an official two-day visit, beginning on Tuesday.

“My offer of good office remains available. If both sides think this is useful and both sides agree, then I’ll be ready to offer my good offices,” Ban said in response to a question whether he could help leaders of India and Pakistan resolve the decades-old dispute, which is on the agenda of the UN Security Council.

Exactly as stipulated in the Simla Agreement, and exactly as I have described it.

Doesn't prove anywhere that UN charter and resolutions have gone null and void as you and other Indians propagate. Obviously he can't force it on India considering Kashmir is not South Sudan.

Those non-binding Resolutions have been superseded by the Simla Agreement. Clearly the UN Sec-Gen understands that as he says in the statement I quoted above. Kashmir is now a bilateral issue and UN can mediate only if both India and Pakistan agree, as stipulated by the Simla Agreement. That, sir, is the irrefutable reality.

Again your and other Indians interpretation or more aptly misinterpretation.

As long as the Secretary-General of the United Nation agrees with what I have said, I have no problem. :D

Shoving personal opinion down secretary general's throat too. Now that's new. :)

LOL. He already agrees with me, so there is no need to force him to do anything. Please read his words quoted above once (or ten times) again if you are still not understanding it correctly.

Misinterpretations, misquotes, lies. Not good for someone who claims to be believe in facts and rational. :)

What is the misquote in the UN Sec-Gen's own words:

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has underscored the need for Pakistan and India to resolve the “longstanding” issue, saying his good offices are available if both sides agree to his mediation..........My offer of good office remains available. If both sides think this is useful and both sides agree, then I’ll be ready to offer my good offices,” Ban said"

Seems pretty clear. :D

As previously replied, and as the UN Sec-Gen says, UN will mediate over Kashmir only if both India and Pakistan agree, as stipulated in the Simla Agreement. I think I will trust the UN Sec-Gen a little bit more than what you say, Sir.
