I asked a user about the advantages of the F-16 over the MiG-29. Here they are:

MiG-29
+ helmet targeting system,
+ speed
+ good t/w ratio
- poor visibility from cockpit
- range
- avionics
- hard for control (no fly by wire)
- smoky engines.

F-16:
+ excellent cockpit visibility
+ range
+ max angular velocity
+ avionics
+ easy to control
- less max speed, small off-boresight angle of AIM-9 (solved by Python-4/5)

Another thing, US electronics and radar are generally better than the Russian ones.

The F-16 has gone through very significant developments. Especially the AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar feature. This is partly due to delays in the F-35 program.

I'd say, F-16s may be good for Bangladesh. Sure there are strings attached, but even if we go for Gripen NG, it'd be the same since it uses an American engine and fires the AMRAAM BVR missile.
