BBC reporter faces calls to resign after comment at Paris rally

No mullah thinks for me, I can think for myself and so can many other Pakistanis. Learn to speak for yourself.

You bring Pakistanis here in this discussion when Pakistan and our "mini me's" we're not inclined in this latest fracas.

So quit derailing the actual issue and stick to the point, which is by demanding the poor man loose his job over a simple question is outrageous to say the least.

I want to use my freedon of speech to Sue Mountain Dew as I don't actually start to climb and do adventure sports everytime I pop opens bottle like the add suggests.

What issue is there? A reporter was criticized for his choice of words. BFD. After all, those who did so only exercised their right to free speech to. Let the reporter respond. Has he been forced to resign? Nope. So there is no issue except being raised by MiniMes, who do not think for themselves.

You mean sorry like the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo? Are you issuing a threat here or simply supporting the acts of Charlie Hebdo killers?
How am I doing that? I seriously dont know how your brain works but twisting words is something it seems to get a kick at doing!

Giving precautionary information before you take a leap is neither issuing a threat nor supporting the death if you fall flat on your face! The pen is in your hands not mine!

He is in a job where he showed himself to be opinionated, and his views matter to people because he is a journalist.
What about the cartoonists? :pop: They are in the same profession so whatever you think is right or wrong with him should be thrown to both sides, no? Plus it is the job of the journalists to question and throw challenges for the other to think!
So people have all the rights to call for his resignation, and his company has all the rights to keep him on his job. Neither party took the law in hand. If his company is at the mercy of peoples' demands, then his company should have trained him better. If the people are wrong, then the company won't throw him out, simple. No law broken. But in Charlie Hebdo's case, people got massacred.
You are talking about 2 things people did....BOTH exercised their freedom of expression but you support CH and not the journalist?

People here have the wrong interpretation of what is 'freedom of speech', according to Western values.

The 'freedom of speech' is meant to be FROM GOVERNMENT CONTROL. Not from competing individual opinions.

The BBC is not the government. So if there are any rules for its employees that you do not like, do not take it out on the general principle of 'freedom of speech' but take it up with the BBC.

.
You were pretty upset when another member made the same advice about the terrorist attacks in Pakistan: Don't go to school, better safe than sorry.

Or in your case: Don't exercise your freedom of speech, better safe than sorry.
Ok firstly maybe educating yourselves helps:

THEY were not killed coz they went to school but coz their parents (not their choice where they were born) work in the army TO ACTUALLY KILL THESE TERRORISTS NOT JUST DRAW CARTOONS and sit back and wait for an effect!

You seem to have fallen way low! CONGRATULATIONS if you cant see the difference!

A journalist is entitled to his/her personal views off air, but when working, he/she is bound by editorial policies.

Neither the journalist nor the CH are govt! But people here are supporting 1 and "correcting" the other coz he dared challenged about Israel?

ROUND OF AN APPLAUSE!

Yes...People are free from government control on who they want to support. Guess that is too hard for you to digest.

ROUND OF AN APPLAUSE!

Now I guess you are going to report me for being a 'bigot' just because I do not agree with you.

Okay let me try once again then: Don't resist terrorism for your own and children's sake. Better safe than sorry.
Or: Be a deserter, better safe than sorry.
Compared to what you are saying: Don't express your opinion, better safe than sorry.

Can't you see my point? I'm trying to show you why your advice is improper and doesn't make any sense by adapting it to your own realities.

Yara I have a friend like you. I think I have you figured out pretty good.

I would rather be considered a mini me then expend my time and energy discussing the issue at hand with you, which to use the analogy is like drawing water in a sieve.

I don't need anyone to provide me with an NOC to know where I stand on a subject. Welcome to hotel lala land, checkout is at 12 and the minibar is free.

According to "Western Values", you can insult religions to your heart's content but if you say "There is no such thing as Armenian Genocide" in France, they will jail you....

I love freedom of speech according to Western values.
