They did the same in 1967 during only 6 days of war and managed to capture a lot more territory than what they held before the war. You understanding of hinduism is quite limited so i suggest u refrain from making a further fool out of urself.The statues themselves are NOT gods,they act as focuses-representations of gods as they are imagined so poor masses can relate to them.Teachings of hinduism state god is everywhere around us in every form.Its called paramatma or supreme soul,when u die ur soul is again released into that whole and every living being is part of that.Brahma,vishnu,shiva represent aspects of the whole.In any case idol worship is not even there in rig vedas,only from gupta age era it gains prominence as a form .And i am saying that as a culturally hindu,not even a practicing one.You want more details ask expert,before posting lies.Finally hindusim is NOT an organized religion with strict do's and don'ts.Just like hinduism in its present form as many abursdities.The do's and don't micromanagement are the most glaring man -made aspect of abrahamic faiths.
