good good. displaced from our native lands, we continue to maintain tradition in my home. i drink kehwa regularly, it is a good reliever for cold. pour in a little lemon, and it because a remedy for stomach pains. make it with milk, and it is good for children. unlike tea, even young children can drink it.

I never felt bad for the thought that part of great civilization has changed its belief system.... but it brings real pain when our own people hate us from their heart and we never considered them as our own irrespective of the religion

visit your local Pakistani consulate or embassy and apply for Pakistani citizenship. The prospects for you to rejoin your so-called ''ancestors'' will improve considerably.

i said one of my ancestors came from the village. from my maternal grandmothers side. I would never live in a religious nation. I would be the first to leave India if it become Hindu ever, don't mind it wont.

Sounds like bullsh1t story. Afghans seem to be the boogeyman in Pakistan. Inflation - blame Afghans, rising property prices - blame Afghans. Just like how Europeans blame immigrants for their incompetence, pakistani authorities are blaming Afghans for their incompetence. Every country needs a villian, USA has had blacks and now Mexicans and UK has eastern european migrants.
I agree that those Afghans who are involved in criminal activity should be brought to justice and Pakistan has every right to ensure the safety of its citizens but the fact is that the police is highly corrupt in Pakistan which I have experienced first hand and they will make up bullshit stories to extract money from poor people. Once I was in Peshawar a police officer stopped a rickshaw, and there was an Afghan guy inside it so the police sat besides him and blantently put drugs in his pocket and then arrested him that apparent crime. The police asked him for 500 rupees and they finally settled on 100 or 200 rupees and the police let him go. This was during Ramadan and in broad day light. Unfortunately "rishwat khori" is quite rampant in third world countries. On many occasions, the police are involved in bribe taking giving lands illegaly to people so its not only the immigrants but also the local police to blame for these crimes.
I doubt that 2-3 million refugees can make much of a difference in a country of 180 million plus.

We are not your people your people are gone and no longer, we taken over these areas centuries ago and your ancestors either met the end they deserved or fled. Hazara people are turko afghans to say they are your people is wrong, what next baloch are your people afghans and Tajiks?.

Some people of Pakistan such as punjabis and sindhis may share some similarities with.punjabis etc of India but that's about it.

if the story about the police is true (and believe me, we need to revamp our police forces in many parts of the country) then it is truly despicable and it puts them on the same level as the petty or major criminals whom we are blaming as well --some of which happen to be Afghans

2-3 million refugees adds and compounds to the problems we already have in Pakistan....our population growth and domestic policies have been disastrous --but it just adds to the pressure on the country and its resources. As i said earlier, we are not a rich welfare state.


it's nothing personal, though.......it's usually the Afghans who try to make it personal by blaming us. Both countries have suffered in their own ways.



as a Pakistani, i pray to God for peace, stability and economic prosperity for Afghanistan....you will never meet a Pakistani with malicious or ill-will towards Afghanistan....unfortunately, i've seen or heard Afghans who abused our country, abused the Father of our nation, etc. though i wouldnt consider their word as the opinion of all Afghans

Story about police can be true because i have witnessed these kind of incidents (not against afghan) even in Punjab. Police department of our country required to be rebuilt by firing old corrupt men who are not better than terrorists - IMO Policemen must hold at-least graduation degree with handsome salary and there must be severe punishment for bribery and negligence.

They took over my uncle's plot which was vacant and yeah they had all their weapons on them. They refused to leave when asked and said it's their property now. But they vacated after a few days after my uncle got some politicians to help him. But the average man most of the time can't get his property back. The land mafia(many afghans are in it) is spreading its wings and due to political backing and weak law enforcement this is getting serious.

What you said is true actually, there was a recent incident on Pakistani news in which a boy was beaten to death and his body dumped by police somewhere because he had no money to give to the police. And yes, it is very common in Pakistan to use Afghans as scapegoats.
