This will be brief inshallah. We have been riddled with war but soon we shall recover and surpass both Hindustan and Bangladesh.

Pakistan is reaping some benefit due to it's initial lead in economy.Pakistan experienced economic growth when India and Bangladesh were not growing that much.Like during Ayub regime(exploitation of East Pak and large American aid),or during Afghan war(huge American Saudi aid). Those momentum are still pushing Pakistan in some parameter like, lower percentage of people below poverty line, household electricity connection, urbanization rate, road infrastructure etc.In all these parameter,Pakistan is ahead of India and BD. In 1990, Pakistan had per capita income 2 times of that India and 3 times of BD.So they got to certain level in some parameter in much earlier time than other two countries. This is like two country which have now both have 1500 dollar income but one has achieve that 10 years ago and others have achieved that just now.It is obvious that early achiever will enjoy some extra benefit due to lead-lag effect.

Bangladesh had a strong growth during Ayub regime. Bangladesh was with Pakistan for a very short period of time. First 10 years of Pakistan nothing actually happened for both east and west pakistan. It is only during the Ayub period Pakistan started investing in infra.
But during 1971-1990 Bangladesh had a very slow growth rate. Infact BDs real income in constant dollar price took 20 years to recover and reach to the level of 1969 after 1971.
Instead of blaming Pakistan we have to look back and see what we had in 1947, or during the time of british.
In 1947 west Pakistan already had 2 mega cities Lahore and Karachi. The biggest city we had was Dhaka with a area of 12 sq mile.

We could have done much better If there were no political turmoils. Anyways, we will do far better in the upcoming time. In Sha Allah!

You wish..
Inshallah, my wish will become reality.

Bangladesh still doesn't have a single big city other than Dhaka, so don't gloat about this whole GDP thing.

Bangladesh posters as usual providing 2017 figures for Bangladesh and 2015 for Pakistan .

The 2017 figure for Pakistan is $1629

https://www.samaa.tv/pakistan/2017/05/pakistans-per-capita-income-has-seen-growth-and-heres-why/

As per the survey unveiled by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday, the per capita income in dollar terms has increased from $ 1,531 in FY 2016 to $ 1,629 in FY 2017.

Plus its not been updated by IMF , World bank as we all know how much BD government tries to fudge their figures .

Dhaka is terrible. Chittagong and Sylhet are much better.

1602 is GDP/capita. 1695 is GNP/captia. Dont provide misinformation
I think,Government said 1602 dollar is current 'per capita income' which usually implies per capita gdp+ external remittance inflow- remittance outflow or other word per capita GNI.But whatever,I will stick to the IMF figure of 1525 USD per capita GDP for credible comparison and wider acceptance.
