Not really, the Eskimos have a better economy & standard of living than Pakistan does but the above are RIP. The Eskimos are as relevant and close to the Pakistani nation as bangladeshis are so the economic figures are inconsequential to us.

. . .
Pakistan economic growth is dangerously low. Its domestic investment is meager. Latest census figure shows higher population growth rate which made things even worse.
May be Pakistan should go back to its fundamentals and emphasis on agriculture and get back on track instead of taking big ticket projects.
In the past I had questioned all the good looking socio economic parameters that likes of @RiazHaq used to blabber about. I questioned how can these values make sense if Pakistan has not calibrated its head count to reality. But everyone hand waived it. Now the truth is coming out.

And good job BD. In socio economic development, you are the clear leader in the subcontinent.

Eskimo did not suffered 24 years long exploitation and marginalization and an imposed war at the hands of the Pakistani ruling junta. It may doesn't means to anything to you or any Pakistani, but racing behind the former oppressor is certainly an ideological and moral victory any nation will cherish. But you can fully ignore this news and not to bother to reply.

Nice way to cover up the butt hurt. Just saying.

Not at all. Nothing is forever. Bangladesh has been growing since 1996 in a stable environment. Pakistan has been suffering the imposed American WOT since 2001. We began our economic reform journey this year. The fruits of which will take at least 10 years to see.

Saying that former Pakistani military commanders and politicians ( who are now deceased) are upset at the rise of bangladesh is like saying that they are also upset at the rise of the economies of Germany or Brazil. Both are ahead of Pakistan and both are as distant to the Pakistani people and nation as the bangladeshis are. That is a fact.

Anyways, good luck to bangladesh. Well done! Now try beating your brothers that are West if you of whom you share the most in common with.

If you meant India, BD is actually ahead in a number of parameters like internet penetration and per-capita health services etc.

But that was nearly 50 years ago. The whole world has changed. Pakistanis nowadays are as distant to bangladeshis as they are to Eskimos. Israel is very powerful yet they no longer berate the Germans for the holocaust nor do they criticize them for being more militarily powerful. The Germans and Israelis are 2 completely different sets of people who are completely different to one another with 2 separate destinies. The same holds true for bangladeshis and Pakistanis.

Go beat your brothers in everything then. Don't forget the cricket too.

Congrats to Bangladesh and may you continue growing. You won't find any jealousy from us if you are doing well

Having said that Pakistan has been in a quasi state of war the past decade, so our growth has been artificially held back. Things are stabilising now however and our growth is reaching the 5-6% mark again.

Both are true, 1602 USD is the per capita GNP/Income and 1525 USD is the per capita GDP which OP mentioned.
1602 is GDP/capita. 1695 is GNP/captia. Dont provide misinformation

Pakistan is reaping some benefit due to it's initial lead in economy.Pakistan experienced economic growth when India and Bangladesh were not growing that much.Like during Ayub regime(exploitation of East Pak and large American aid),or during Afghan war(huge American,Saudi aid). Those momentum are still pushing Pakistan in some parameter like, lower percentage of people below poverty line, household electricity connection, urbanization rate, road infrastructure etc.In all these parameter,Pakistan is ahead of India and BD. In 1990, Pakistan had per capita income almost 2 times of that India and 3 times of BD.So they got to certain level in some parameter in much earlier time than other two countries. This is like two country which have now both have 1500 dollar income but one has achieve that 10 years ago and others have achieved that just now.It is obvious that early achiever will enjoy some extra benefit due to lead-lag effect.

No. Not yet. Let BD, India and Pakistan have a GDP per capita 10 times higher than now. Maybe after that. We will be too old by then if that ever happens.
