West Bengal has 40% Muslims. In 1947 after partition Muslims were only 15%. So can easily conclude that most of Bengali Muslims are of Bangladeshi origin. Some were economic refugees. Other fled during 1971 civil war.

Now the point is how are you going to deport a major chunk of West Bengal and Assam's population.

BJP will try to trigger Hindu Muslim riots to win the election. But it cannot deport these people who have been living here since 40-50 years. They will only communalize the region.

West Bengal Muslims have nowhere due representation, not in economy, not in education, not in social mobility, not in politics, not in media, not in cultural spaces.

Who is to blame for that? WB has been ruled by CPIM and TMC turn after turn and yet this is the position of muslims. And yet we have muslims who arent looking for change in politics and those who do are treated as non-existent/pariahs/traitors to the larger muslim community.

Merging with India is almost impossible because Bangladeshis are Islamic people, very uncomfortable to even eat food in Hindu houses because of halal and haram issues. Bangladeshis can only become Indians if climate change makes Bangladesh disappears inside sea which is unlikely to happen in next 50 years. After 50 years who knows. May be we will become Indian or remain Bangladeshi. It depends on religious atmosphere and climate condition of the country.

The increase of BJP in W Bengal will definitely paint a picture of contrast. The hostility has always been there for both Bengals, the people of W Bengal definitely have a few more underlying hostilities/issues against us than we do against them.
