Bangladesh set to outpace Pakistan’s auto sector

.
Yep parts manufacturing and assembling is not really a policy to boast about or to compare. The best way forward is design and R&D, let there be separate industries for that. Bikes, e-Bikes, three-wheelers are good segments to start off and move on to tractors, and then to PVs or heavy vehicles.

.
Arrogance is very unseemly, especially when your per capita income is 35 % less than that of Bangladesh's.
And spare me the Muslim lectures . You guys and your leaders discarded the Muslim Uighurs like trash for a little bit of investment from china. Hypocrisy at its best
Never seen Bangladesh using the religion card for getting loans and aid from all over the world, unlike Pakistan. So who has self respect ?
Bangladesh is doing well through pure trade. And no need to involve India as they have a negative balance with India. Its 3rd countries BD is doing well against.
And how do you treat you delats. So fix your house. You have shifted from open defection to defacation on the free bandwidth. India is only known for rapes. So jog on.

What's the km length of all roads paved in Bangladesh?

. . .
What about those maruti suzuki based cars? Not local production?
None man most probably only bodies rest everything from CKD's,Pakistani auto sector is monoploy of 3 companies very well connected with Govt and Babus. That alliance is so strong that even Chinese have failed to enter market.

.
Pointless article. How can one conclude Bangladesh is "set to outpace" Pakistan due to new policy when the policy is yet to kick in?
No new factory has gone to production yet as a result of the new policy.

Bangladesh should fully focus on breaking into EV manufacturing which is not yet saturated on the supply side. Provide subsidies if possible. West is set to go fully electric. The early entrants into EV manufacturing will get to dominate the global export market for decades.

Exactly!

There are very large volume auto assemblers in Pakistan, at least two/three of them if not more. The volume produced in Bangladesh is rather puny in comparison.

I believe Suzuki Mehran stopped production but Honda/Toyota sedan assemblers are still in business, right?

I could've stayed quiet on this, but one cannot support wrong information.

What happened to Pakistan's famous Water Car?

Don't mock them so much, wasn't so long ago (two/three decades) that the only choices for a car in India were these two pathetic ones, and you had to get on a two year waiting list (or more), And when you got one you had to literally throw a welcome party for the car with ganda phool and sindoor. So soon we forget...

No Yaar - We like more modern stuff. This is a little silly. You are an intelligent person. Don't you think if people have money, they can afford expensive cars? If there is no local dealer, they can still import.

BTW Luxury car tax is 800% in Bangladesh, don't know what it is in Pakistan...

There are Audi and BMW showrooms in Bangladesh, but probably no RR ones AFAIK. It'd be an abomination when the price of these cars represent someone's lifetime earnings locally. Just not right.

Every single thread related to india and Bangladesh becomes a fucking dick measuring competition. Why they hell cant people have simple conversation? We have been dealing with a fucking war at our Western border, just recently came out of what was turning to be a civil war. This was bound to happen and its no big deal. They had a constant growth over all these years and we didn't. Its all fine man just stop trolling.
And the Porsche center in lahore has been closed, the official porsche website has also removed Pakistan's name cause the fucking owner of the dealership ran away with 800m rupees. Asay banaygi achi auto industry?.

Don't get upset yaar, ahista ahista thik ho jaega.

It's just Indian folks trying to annoy Pakistanis.

Auto Industry setup will need a firm economic and customer base, and that will take time, in both Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bangladesh is not in any better situation, probably worse.

I'd say India's auto industry also collapsed, and that was in 2019, pre Covid. People were laid off. It is a huge mess. Things are really tough all over.
