Bangladesh Per capita income now $1314

@farhan_9909 Dude, since you like playing with numbers wanna ask you some calculations.

Temme, when was the last census taken place in Pakistan? And since then till now how much per decade growth do you think must have happened. You can get it online. Some unofficial figures by different groups and then how much do you think today's Pakistani population is?

Will be interesting and informative too. By da way I am an Mba grad and hence have a good hold on economics and numbers. We can have a good trade of economical gyan if you like.

In 1998,I think Pakistan population must be around 200Million though in the recnet years,Pakistan does has seen a reduction in Population growth rate and even credible source's like World bank put 1.6% Population growth rate for Pakistan.

I will do the calculation later.

Countries can measure their GDP and per capita income their own way. End of the day BD annual budget is now around $32b and Pak $40b. And 1tk=1.31pkr. How far are we. Smaller bangla smaller population.

We are happy for you,we are not in competition with Bangladesh.

OK. But give me 2 inputs. 1. Population in 1998. 2. Average growth rate from as many sources as we can coz official rate wont be available.

GDP isn't everything. I'd rather Bangladesh decreased in population size to around 100 million or so. Given the size, I think it will afford a better living standard. It's better to have $200bn shared between 100mn rather than 150mn. Good family planning measures and a more educated people should result in population growth rate slowing down.

By the way, note that GDP figures need to be compounded.

How do you make 50m people disappear?

. . . .
The average age now in Bangladesh is 25.4 and that of Pakistan is 22.8.

Yearly growth rate in Bangladesh is 1.22% and that for Pakistan is 1.64% (2014 figures).

Population of Bangladesh (2015) - Worldometers

By inference - Pakistan's population is younger. My general impression that population growth in Pakistan will continue further past what it is now, and that too for longer than countries like Bangladesh, until it stabilizes at some point.

The primary reason is cultural push-back against family-planning initiatives as well as rate of female education. This will naturally increase fertility levels (number of kids born per mother) and in turn, population. If mothers sit at home - without an income and a say-so in reproductive decisions, they essentially become unwilling baby-making machines.

But given the strength and diversity of industrialization in certain areas in Pakistan (like Punjab) - I believe they can absorb and utilize (in their industries) this temporary increase in population until population growth can be brought under check.

I know tell that to that delusional who claim Poor Indians would migrate to PROSPEROUS BD.

So you seem to be inferring that there are no lower class people in India.

Dhaka is filled with Illegal Indians working in the garments and IT industries without valid papers.

And these are not Bais or Rickshaw-pullers, they're educated professionals.

Bangladesh was the third largest remittance source for India as of January 2015 (The figure was around $3.7 Billion).

How is this so hard to fathom - unless you don't have grasp of the facts?

Any Bangladeshi here who supports Pakistan more than Bangladesh needs to be put out to sea along with the Hindus of Bangladesh. I don't care if they are Muslim. We don't need traitors.

I don't mind you supporting Pakistan more than India because we all hate India with passion but to support another country more than your own is being nothing more than a loser.I can understand your frustrations at the Hindu agent, Hasina, but that's not a good enough reason to like a country that we don't have anything to do with over your own.

If Pak GDP is now $250b and keeps on growing 4% per year then BD will take over that in 12 years increasing at a rate of 6.5%..
so you have assumed that Pakistan GDP will remain at 4% in 12 years to come .?

. . .
Your assuming Bangladeshi GDP growth will remain at 6.5, this has been a bad year for us with loads of political strife. In future we expect things to calm down and growth to accellerate.

GDP growth will accelerate in the future due to the following reasons:

1/ Padma bridge will come on-line by 2018 - this will add 0.5% extra to national GDP growth as the South West will finally be connected to Dhaka and the rest of the country.

2/ Political turmoil is likely to die down from now.

3/ Large power stations will soon come on-line and then BD will be relatively free of load-shedding and this will reduce the cost to industry of maintaining costly back-up generators - BD exports become more competitive and sell in larger numbers.

I think 7-8% average GDP/growth is achievable over the next 5-10 years.

therefore assumptions are wrong , dont hurry up with it , i m not against BD growth increase but keeping one thing constant and others moving is not correct. You are hopeful about BD but you must also see that Pakistans internal security has improved and huge foreign chineese investments is coming in , analysis is both ways not oneway . Otherwise if you feel quenched with surpassing Pakistani GDP ,pls go ahead . We are happy for you .

Mathaa kho agha lewany lagii...matha kho dagha de mung gawand lagee aur nuum de Bangladesh isthemala ve :D :P

The best thing Pakistan can do is let the Pashtuns on the Western Frontier Province breakaway. The Pashtuns are a huge drain on the economy.
You are burden on humanity you should leave earth!

With a stabilising Pakistan and investments from China, Pakistan is sure to enjoy growth rates like BD soon.
