The selection of cities was done on PPP list.This study defines a metropolitan area as an economic region including one or more cities and their surrounding areas, all linked by economic and commuting ties (see Appendix B). This year’s sample is comprised of the 300 largest metropolitan economies in the world for which industry trend data were available, based on the size of their economies in 2014 at purchasing power parity (PPP) rates.

The values there after are on Nominal ....
e.g.
On page 6 the report lists Mumbai GDP per capita as $1990.
But GDP per capita (PPP) of India is $5,855.

How can there be so much disparity on GDP per capita b/w India's average and it's economic hub....because one of them is nominal and that is mumbai.
