Bangladesh Per capita income now $1314

This study defines a metropolitan area as an economic region including one or more cities and their surrounding areas, all linked by economic and commuting ties (see Appendix B). This year’s sample is comprised of the 300 largest metropolitan economies in the world for which industry trend data were available, based on the size of their economies in 2014 at purchasing power parity (PPP) rates.

The selection of cities was done on PPP list.
The values there after are on Nominal ....

e.g.
On page 6 the report lists Mumbai GDP per capita as $1990.
But GDP per capita (PPP) of India is $5,855.

How can there be so much disparity on GDP per capita b/w India's average and it's economic hub....because one of them is nominal and that is mumbai.

Well, that's only at one point they listed the nominal per capita incomes of some selected cities but the data are all of PPP rates as mentioned in their method section. Besides, nowhere it said Mumbai has a nominal GDP of $200 billion, so we are basically wasting our time...

. .
Pak per capita for 2014-15, $1513, India $1567 and BD $1314.

. . .
1990(Nominal per capita) * 12 million population.. = $238 billion

Dude please use some common sense.

If Mumbai has nominal of 240 billion dollars then the rest of Maharashtra would have to share
50 billion between over 100 million people.

I am mathematically capable and can crunch numbers almost like a computer in my brain and so
instantly realisd this figure can only be PPP and not nominal.

He showed fake figures, $1990 x 12 million = $23.8 billion (not $238 billion)

yup...
that is why east MH is very very poor (Marathwad and vidharbha) .... That is THE hotspot for farmer suicides.
and NO the figure is Nominal.... also some firms having HO Mumbai and plants in other parts of MH is *sometimes* counted in mumbai due to *regulatory* reasons.

You just admitted your mistake and still claiming Mumbai has a nominal GDP of more than $200 billion? There's no source supporting your claim, Mumbai's nominal GDP must be around $23.8 billion as shown in the calculation.

yup i just wanted to say that mh, has big disparities.
MH has 15% of india's GDP = 200+ bn
and east MH is very poor...due to the reasons i gave

Maharashtra can surely have a nominal gdp of over $200 billions but not Mumbai. East Maharashtra being very poor doesn't really prove that Mumbai's got the entire GDP of the state.
