.
I feel for you Munshi, must be a pretty sad day for you, Idune, Msaint etc. My condolence.

Luffy 500: Again, welcome to the forum!

Yes, I'm Islamophobic.

I don't want to see Bangladesh turning into a new Afghanistan.

I'm in Canada because education here is better. This is how the future of Bangladesh should look like.

The current Bangladeshi model of a country's existence is unsustainable. Sooner or later the country will collapse. We need strong support from a large country like India or China to look for new resources in the oceans or outer space. China only assists us to contain India, but they have no desire to see a powerful nation down here just for the sake of it. But cooperating with India, in the future, would be a better choice because, after all, we're the same race, same people, same blood!

PS: I don't mean to offend any of you devout Muslims. Apologies if you misunderstood my message. Nothing against Islam - just don't mix it up with state affairs.

You truly fail at choosing your words carefully.

Dhaka: Two non-residents Bangladeshis have been identified as the plotters of a conspiracy to overthrow Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.

On Thursday, the Bangladesh military announced that it has foiled a plot by a group of hardline officers to oust Hasina.

According to reports, Syed Mohammad and Ishraq Hossian plotted the coup.

Meanwhile, two retired officers — Lt Col Ehsan Yusuf and Major Zakir — have been arrested. Authorities are also looking for another fugitive serving officer, Syed Mohammad Ziaul Haq, who fled his post after the arrest of Yusuf and Zakir.

Government sources have reportedly confirmed that those nabbed for the attempted coup were "anti-India''. The held sought to reverse the changes made by the Hasina government in 2011 in the Constitution to make it more secular.

It is also reported that Indian agencies had some information about a possible coup in Bangladesh for the past few days.

Bangladesh Army `foils bid to topple Hasina govt`
On Thursday, Brigadier General Muhammad Masud Razzaq told a news conference that the military has specific evidence that up to 16 current and former Bangladeshi military officers "with extreme religious views" were involved in the "heinous conspiracy”.

The plot was instigated by Bangladeshi conspirators living abroad, he added.

The coup attempt underscored tension between Hasina's government and elements of the military that has lingered since a 2009 mutiny.

In 2009, just two months after Hasina took office after sweeping a general election, Bangladesh border guards mutinied over complaints over pay, perks and promotion prospects. At least 74 military commanders were killed, many of them the commanders of the mutineers.

Military officials were furious with Hasina for not ordering an assault on the compound, but instead ending the standoff by offering an amnesty to the mutineers that was later rescinded.

Since then, the military has been pressing for an early trial of the mutineers. Hasina's government is trying more than 800 border guards on charges of killing, arson and looting in Dhaka. Hundreds who mutinied at locations outside the capital have been tried already and sentenced to prison.

Somehow it's hard to buy the coup story put out by the BAL Govt. Looks like a case of an isolated unhappy junior officer being inflated to look like a coup attempt. Perhaps the govt aims at weeding out non-BAL / non-Secularist officers through this exercise.
BRO, Dalal ALers deliberately blew it out of proportion to buy hedge in order to pre-empt any upcoming coup after anticipating some patriotic Civil-MIL's grievances against their superlative dalali of Bharat, anti-state ness, unprecedented Islam bashing and applications of corrupt means to destroy the economic foundation of BD.

Those Dalaler Baschas aren't stupid but criminals to the core. They are worshipers of tangible power but ultimate oppressors of weak, unfortunates. I'VE various firsthand experiences as I had to hang out with them. I've witnessed so many of their crimes that rims of papers would be needed to describe it. They are extreme cunning but cowards, shrewd but shallow. And you can’t even imagine what they can do. By saying this much, I rest my case.

Certainly not PDF! Hardly any soldiers here. Mostly kids, teenies and assorted snotties here. Cyber-warriors can hardly be called soldiers. No worries.

You don't know anything about Bangladesh if you think Islamic revolution is inevitable in Bangladesh, you should just visit Dhaka if you think that is the case, you will hardly ever hear a story where a hindu and muslim would fight in Bangladesh, we live pretty harmoniously side by side in Bangladesh. The extremist population is very low and does not have the support nor will it ever. Pakistanis are highly religious where Bangladeshis are barely practicing muslims, we are very open minded. Just visit Dhaka, you will know, you will hardly see a hijabi or any religious clothing and mullahs are a very small minority.
Haha. You are confused... Gulshan Baridhara TSC or Bashundhara City isn't Bangladesh.. Secularists are minority. But they control our media. This is why you see them 24/7..

India tip-off foils coup in Bangladesh.
Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury New Delhi, January 20, 2012 | UPDATED 10:21 IST

India has helped Bangladesh avert what could have been reminiscent of the bloody military takeover in the wake of the assassination of the country's founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, more than 36 years ago.

An attempt by rebels in the Bangladesh army, with the help of "a foreign power", to stage a coup to dislodge Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was foiled.

Though the news of the failed attempt was made public on Thursday, the plot is believed to have been unearthed last month. A military court of inquiry was set up on December 28. The Bangladesh army has assured stern legal measures against all masterminds and conspirators.

Senior minister and Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam has vowed to punish the conspirators. Sources said a reported tip-off from India helped the army preempt the bid by middle- ranking serving officers with active support from retired armymen.

It is believed that New Delhi alerted the Hasina government, which enabled the Bangladesh army to trace the plotters by tracking the cell phone call records.

Acting swiftly, the government arrested retired officers Lt-Col Ehsan Yusuf and Major Zakir. Army spokesperson Brigadier General Muhammad Masud Razzaq said the duo had "admitted to their role in the plot". The army is also pointing to the role of banned Islamist outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir. But the key plotter, Major Syed Mohammad Ziaul Huq alias Zia, a serving officer, is absconding. He was allegedly in touch with the serving officers through cell phone and internet to hatch the conspiracy.

The role of Major-General Kamruzzman is also under the scanner. He may have been put under house arrest.

Brigadier Razzaq said at the instigation of some non-resident Bangladeshis, some serving as well as retired officers with "extreme religious views have tried to create disorder in the army riding on the religious sentiments of other officers".

"Such heinous attempts are being foiled by the army," he stressed at a press conference on Thursday.

Brigadier Razzaq said Major Zia tried to provoke a "senior officer into using the army against the state and democracy". The officer informed the appropriate authorities and Zia's leave and transfer order was cancelled. But he did not return to work and is still engaged in trying to organise subversive activities.

As many as 14 to 16 people are believed to be linked to the coup attempt.

Though the army did not name the "foreign power" that is suspected to have a hand, it is understood that Bangladesh is closely monitoring the recent visit of a senior Pakistani diplomat to Kolkata.

Hardliners and Islamists in Bangladesh and their supporters in the army are believed to be wary of the country's close relations with India since Hasina's return to power in 2009.

Sources said the ongoing war crime trial of top Jamaat-e-Islami leadership, who collaborated with the Pakistan army in 1971, could also be a reason behind the coup attempt. The Jamaat's link with Pakistan is no secret.

SHEIKH HASINA: A SURVIVOR

AUGUST 1975: When her father and rest of family was assassinated, Sheikh Hasina was saved as she was in Germany.

AUGUST 21, 2004: Grenade attack on Hasina, then Opposition leader, killed Awami League leaders but she escaped. Role of then PM Khaleda Zia's son Tareque Rehman under scanner.

FEBRUARY 2009: Mutiny in Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) was an attempt to destablise Hasina government less than two months after coming to power. Scores of army officers killed. It pitted army against BDR.

So some extremist idiot decides to plan a coup being a major at that posts his view on fb to do it, in fact if you are planning a coup fb should be the last place to provide details about it....what a moron! First of all no coup is possible in BD without the backing of the 46th brigade and the tank regiment in Savar and a major is too small a rank for anything to happen. You need brigadiers and generals atleast. BAL generals saw it as an oppurtunity to play politics and get the west in their side to show that this country is full of fundamentalists and to remain in power; exposing a small incident by an idiot and making it a big issue....a great PR stunt and making a mountain of a mole hill by the BAL government!

& there are high possibilities that this PR stunt in which the BAL has used a sensitive & sacred institution like the army when we all know that withholding some pro-BAL elements the larger part of the army & the people in general are getting fed up of BAL's rule specially when the wounds of the pilkhana massacre & the hidden agenda behind it are still not healed, coupled up with the recent announcement of BNP's movement to oust the govt on jan 20 , now coming to analyze how sensitive the Bangladeshi people are regarding the country, & the Geo-Strategic environment along with the economic crisis in E.U & the U.S & the increasing assertiveness & interest of China in the region, compels me to think that chances are high that this treacherous trick played by the BAL is going to backfire on it big time

Hizb-ut-Tahir? Pakistan? Where they get this? Lolz...what a bunch of fanboys
