Bangladesh by 2030 should have a military equipped with sufficient modern fighters, AEW aircraft, frigates, submarines and tanks that any country will think twice before deciding to attack.

As long as the economy keeps growing reasonable well as it is doing now, then this can be done along with steady reduction in poverty levels.

BD 2030 - near zero absolute poverty and and an extremely well equipped conventional military is a realistic goal.

For our airforce they will be used as mostly interceptor and most of the time hit and run type operation.

You missed my point. Attack hellos are usefull once you eshtablish complete dominance over sky and on ground. Does our army reached to that level yet??

Bangladesh is a tiny nation.....

with a huge booming economy.... it will not be difficult to set them in all major cities protecting military establishments from air attack!

i seriously hope by 2050 we will have enough money to set multi layered air defence SAM .

If you want to counter a tank of Arjun's quality attack helo has no alternative....

and i was not talking about air warfare.. this thread was about army..... A modern army needs support from helo... iraq war proved this..... Americans died in numbers when they tried to fight from ground against iraqi tanks used as pillbox......

That's because the Americans achieved air superiority over the Iraqis very quickly.

You should note that the Lebanese Hezbollah took out Merkavas with Russian anti-tank weapons, and they were effective. The Merkava is heavy and very heavily armored.

Is it absolutely necessary to have attack helis with dedicated anti-tank and hunter killers? Not really, but it'd be good for close air support operations.

By that time, 5th generation fighters would be starting to set the benchmark. Now, getting them and being able to afford them are the real questions.
