Even if Europe do buy gas from elsewhere, it won't stop Russia to sell their gas to East. Their trade with China has jumped to almost 150 bn. And they are betting big time on that to continue.
Yes you are right about the USD, I posted it hastily, I knew they were divesting all their USD but apparently they still do have some remaining. Although significantly lower than past since the last sanctions were put in place.
But even the current sanctions have loopholes they can exploit to maintain their position of strength. Quoting from a new report -
".... at the current level of oil prices, Russia’s budget is in surplus, and the Ministry of Finance does not need to use reserves. On the other hand, when the Ministry of Finance sells its foreign currency reserves, the buyer is the CBR; the Ministry of Finance does not need to go to the market for this.
Consequently, even if the accounts of the CBR are frozen, the Ministry of Finance will be able to receive roubles from it, if at some point it wants to sell some of its currency reserves.

Western countries have not limited payments related to Russian energy resources, which constitute 50 percent of Russian exports. In this way, Europe guarantees that energy prices will not skyrocket and damage its own economy."

The fact of the matter is, if countries like Iran and North Korea can survive for years under stifling sanctions, so can Russia. Even if they have to blow you, next time you go visit- just quoting your own words. Sure they won't be able to wage another war anytime soon, but they will still have a anti-US leadership with largest stockpile of nukes. The Russian people can do absolutely jack shyte.
I am not here to fanboy Putin here. Putin and West are the same when it comes to Muslims. I feel sorry for the innocent civilians in Ukraine, but that is the extent of my attachment to this fight.
The discussion is about Bangladesh being impacted by sanctions, and the answer remains NO. We are a small fish that the hypocrite West will not lose sleep over for dealing with Russia.
As to your anecdotal references to whether I know about Russia Ukraine brotherhood and history, yes I do know. No wonder they messed up their invasion by going soft in early hours since they wanted to maintain their popularity and establish some form of pro Russia govt. And now realizing that is no longer an option, they are sending Chechens who are not Slavic to ensure the war machine moves on and no mercy is shown on the grounds. A slav may hesitate to kill another slav, but not a Chechen. Hence they are making a big deal about broadcasting it in tv. I don't need to have family in Russia to understand that much.
