Ballistic missile Nasr: A bigger threat from Pakistan

There is not a bound that says these missiles will only be used by PA inside Pakistan territory to ruffle indian troops that may be in attepmt to invade but it can be used in a other way around scenario too , PA can also use it on indian army formations inside indian territory by firing it from close the border or in a PA offensive an attempt to invade indian territory these missile can be used to nullify any resistance .... if this article mentions only one scenario let not be restricted to only that ... its obvious and makes sense a weapon can be used when needed in any possible scenarios ....these even if said by officials are just ways to make other party allude

Sir,don't you think it will be a tactical suicide for PA to waste its first Nuke strike by doing so ?
Using it on Indian/Pakistani territory wont matter as the response will not be in the same currency.

.
Prithvi can knock out whole country:P

So the stupidity continues.....

In case of war both countries would use variety of tools up their sleeves, which they have been acquiring, building up for decades....... Nasr is just one such tool ..... plenty others designed for their specific roles....... Nasr is definitely not designed to counter Prithvi ...... For Prithvi we have a whole line of Ballistic and Cruse Missiles (Hataf series) ...... This assumption that India will use a massive nuclear counter strike in response to battlefield (tactical) nuclear strike on its own territory ...... and that Pakistan would be naive enough to let that happen is simply redonkulous........MAD is assured...... Our survival is only in raising the cost of war to unacceptable level.....Top brass from both ends know it... thats why we have not gone to war despite of extreme tensions in the past decade....... And this strategy will continue in future ..... love it or hate it..... you got to live with it!

Peace
Adios!

Once more.
India does not have hydrogen bomb so stop dreaming of a total annihilation of Pakistani cities or troops.

Both countries only have tactical warheads....

.
India simply does not have megaton size nuclear warheads.
Without that there is no chance of a massive retaliation as in the wet dreams of indian members.
Both countries have kiloton sized warhead which can be used for tactical role.
So if the time comes when use of kiloton or subkiloton sized warheads on advancing Indian army,Pakistan can do so without worrying about MAD,as india is incapable of doing so anyway.
When did india make Hydrogen bomb?.....

Sir, India Tested a Thermonuclear Device(Shakti 2) on 11 may 1998.

Please remember 1998 was second time around the Indian conducted the nuclear tests unlike Pakistan.

Nuclear Weapons - India Nuclear Forces

.
Scary Scenario mate. You got the evil yindoo running around for cover with your verbal nukes.

Now why dont you shoot down a couple of drones and put your money where your mouth is.

if you hindus have some balls, then send drones over Pakistan...

wait, you did..and they were blasted into pieces...hah!

And that test was failed

Refer to post #49.

You just don't nuke an entire country over some troops which were invading into the enemy's territory. Nuclear responses are not comparable to the conventional ones. This means that nuclear responses from both sides would have to follow a step-wise escalation, from counter-force to counter-value targets, during which both sides hope to prevent further escalation.

Well, if one side has shown its willingness to use nuclear weapons even though albeit a tactical nuclear weapons..it is very logical and in the interest of self preservation, the other side responds to this threat by a massive strike, designed to take out enemies second strike capability to minimize its own losses.

That is why tactical nuclear weapons are a double edged sword, with almost all countries having abandoned their use in their nuclear doctrines.

For Indian Balls,Please google "Creation of Bangladesh".

Also google the list of "90000 Soldiers surrender,Biggest in modern History".Ask them they will tell you the size as well.:smokin:

Mate, chk out its range i.e. 60 kms, that means it's like a smerch or Pinaka rocket with IA, if PA decide to use it against IA formations inside Indian territory than it must be stationed close to Indian borders, which will be a suicidal idea as a country doesn't keep it's nuclear delivery platforms so close to International borders, in a war they will be an easy target for Indian armed forces & they will get easily neutralized.

This weapon is developed only for the usage on IA soldiers inside Pakistan's own territory otherwise it's range doesn't make sense.

Even if i assume what you are saying can be true, even than India's NFU policy is breached, so it doesn't matter if Indian soldiers are killed inside Pak or inside India, India will retaliate in both the cases.

No Idea, no one has even some kind of a decent guess about what's in the Indian nuke arsenal, though our first test was in the 70's. One could be right in saying they do not exceed kilo ton nukes going by the delivery systems that are being made. India is counting on BMD's to decrease the fallout in case of a nuclear war.

Why not?

Pakistani General's have always gone wrong in assuming Indian response to Pakistani aggression, A nuclear strike on India is a very big deal - even a terrorist detonating a dirty nuke of Pakistani origin will have catastrophic effects.

. .
Our main cities will be gone.. that is not even up for debate..its a fact. But With out deep hinterland, we can easily save our half academicians and economists.. So we are looking at massive destruction but that's just it on the other hand pakistan will be totally annhilated..

every moving organism will be deep fried.. pERIOD !!

@those of you who are debating about hydrogen bombs.. as a FACT, India's heavy water indigenous nuclear reactors produces one of the largest amount of tritium in thw world. YES, more than even US/Russia.

According to third party respectable sources, India can QUICKLY assemble more than 1000 nukes, it produces that many fissile material. So, for not even once think that pakistan wll outlive a nuclear war.. not the humans but some underground creatures in pakistan might live..

.
if you hindus have some balls, then send drones over Pakistan...

You muslims got your balls already chopped by drones, and islamic terrorists you bread for other countries.

So don't use foul language, we all can use it !!

That is why tactical nuclear weapons are a double edged sword, with almost all countries having abandoned their use in their nuclear doctrines.

The question is, does that response ensure that the enemy's second strike capability is eliminated or minimized?

The "other" countries have abandoned this concept, because they rely totally on all-out strikes. With hundreds of nuclear weapons ready for launching, nobody cares for step-wise escalation because the adversary might escalate things a bit too quickly.

Pakistan and India are in the same position as USA and USSR were in the early cold-war era. As both countries progress in developing more survivable nuclear weapons and reliable and fast command and controls, the focus of deployment of nuclear weapons will shift from SRBMs to canisterized and mobile IRBMs, SLBMs/SLCMs and ALCMs, ensuring immediate retaliation so that both countries avoid misadventures in future.
