Bahria University banned Shalwar Kameez on campus. Is this Islamic Republic of Pakistan?

regardless, there should be no compulsion as to what a person can or cannot. What’s important is that the dress should look decent and neat as per the institutions standards, whether Shalwar Kameez or a Suit.

I've had this opinion about the shalwar kameez from the beginning. I really don't think it looks right on men. It's definitely not head of state attire.

I agree that at times it can be very unpresentable but thats more on the individual. Same could be for suits that are not well tailored, Jinnah was a classy fella but Nawaz by contrast look like he buys his suits off a clearance rack.

The amount of Pakistanis on this form that are criticizing their national dress is somewhat unprofessional and that a three piece suit or western clothing is better is mind boggling. You guys want to be white or western I so bad why did you guys even leave India? Well I don't know if I would wear a Shalwar Kameez openly in the West.

You might be hit by some racist cowboy redneck in a pickup truck like it happened in London, Ontario.

If you wear Shalwar Kameez in your home, on Eid festivals, or in Pakistani parties, then its okay.

but to wear Shalwar Kameez openly in West is not wise.

in West I wear Long sleeve polo shirt with ironed trousers, and loafers or running shoes.
