Imo go for mix of Rafale and Eurofighter Bangladesh has money to purchase them in good quanity follow up with air-defense systems and also go for mixed systems. Purchase Khalid Tanks from Pakistan and humvees/troop carriers from Turkey plus submarines and aircraft carriers from Turkey and France

4th gen is a strech without BVR capability.
Even MiG-21 Bisons fire BVR missiles.

Add AESA radar and upgrade instrumentation and the MiG-29s will jump to 4.5 gen.

Bangladesh took a far more realistic approach later acquiring F-6s ( ironically from Pakistan ), and Mig 17s. These were maintained well though some were lost in a cyclone, because despite a warning they had not been tied down or wheels chocked on the runway.

You forgot BAF had F-86 sabres in the 1970s and 1980s. In its initial years, Bangladesh armed forces relied mostly on European arms.

Last time there was a coup involving air power on 3rd November 1975 those Mig 17s were screaming over Dhaka city buzzing the Presidential Palace in support of Brig.Gen. Khaled Mosharraf. He himself was killed just four days later. The helicopters were buzzing Ramna Park near the Dhaka Radio station.

Bangladesh's direct enemy as of now is Myanmar or Burma. Bangladesh's air force in no freaking way can take on the growing Burmese air force as of now.

Those outdated J-7 and Mig29 should be discarded and replaced with more modern jets.

You realise that Pakistan's best missile is the Shaheen-3 which can destroy only the western part of India while India's ace missile is the Agni 5 which can wipe out entire Pakistan starting from Punjab till Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.
