Azerbaijan to buy JF-17 Blok II combat aircraft from Pakistan

Baku / 01.12.18 / Turan: Negotiations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan on the purchase of JF-17 Block II combat aircraft are coming to the end, the representative of the company "Pakistan Aeronautical Complex" (PAC) informed Azeri Defense at the international exhibition İDEAS-2018 in Karachi.

The source noted that all issues related to the export to Azerbaijan have already been resolved. Planes of JF-17 Blok II configuration requested by Azerbaijan passed the test.

Versions of the Blok II aircraft are already being used by Pakistani military aircraft and have proven themselves in practice. They have improved avionics and electronic security systems. They are equipped with AESA radar from China and Italy.

According to publicly available information, these aircraft can carry guided missiles and bombs of various types.

It is assumed that 24 such aircraft will be delivered to Azerbaijan, with a total value of $500 million. -06D-

Sir Chinese announced long time back that it will upgrade Pakistani JF-17 block 1 and 2 with aesa radars. The radar has been displayed already at your air show. The air cooled one. MOU were signed between China Poland Turkey and Italy I have that news from Pakistani media.
(Opinion)
So Block 2 has both Chinese and Italian AESA available.

Now they have done it already or not I don't know but the Radar is there and upgrade is available.

Azerbaijan is working to custom build it for their requirements.

@Deino you can find the news of MOU between China Turkey Poland and Italy signed at the end of this article.

Yes, Azerbaijani JF-17 will use Aselpod and Vixen 1000E AESA, most likely Turkish avionics will be dominant within the aircraft.

The Aselpod is confirm that was one of The main requirement of Azerbaijan. Avionics are from China because that suite is better with JF-17 systems air to air weapons will be from ROKETSAN and will be produced in Pakistan. Data link will come from Turkey integrated environment awareness. These things are being negotiated currently between Azerbaijan and PAC.

But again: Will is future tense and that's not the same as it has already.

You mind find that nit-picking, IMO it is a to be precise.

Azerbaijan is currently deciding which aesa radar to chose for JF-17 Chinese or Italian. :) not so future after all.

Azerbaijan's requirement was night fight capability, Aesa, advance data link, targeting pod, EW suite, advance avionics.

They will get all this.

@Deino so block 2 has aesa.

Oh come on, you are a respected and long-time member here and I really see no reason for that most stupid discussion; do we really need to argue on grammar and semantics? :hitwall:

"is currently deciding" means no decision is made yet, it will be made so ... so it is future and even more since Azerbaijan did not order, no AESA is operational yet and in consequence Your post "uses an AESA" is plain wrong.

End of the debate.

I said radar was shown at the air show. Please try to understand what is being discussed instead of eating people's brains.
When its confirmed that Block-1/2 will have AESA long time ago, links, dates ,references, you have just false assumptions, rumors @BHarwana ,you're eating other's brain not me @BHarwana
