That is because muslims 'mocked' and 'slandered' Jesus by denying His claim to be the Son of God.

He is simply seen as a great prophet in Islam. Muslims do not use metamorphic associations with prophets. Their belief in one true god is absolute. No here there.

And according to Islam, Jesus is still alive in heaven. And will return on the Day of Judgment. The alive part is what primarily differentiates Islam from Christianity as far as Jesus is concerned.

Any Muslim who mocks Jesus cannot be a Muslim. Only a Kafir would mock him.

Because -- theological discussion -- mankind have had a bad history of not obeying God's laws even when those laws were expounded by duly appointed agents of God, aka 'prophets'. At best, we obeyed only the letter off the law and usually did so for selfish reasons. God -- via His human form Jesus -- offered the final example of living in the spirit of those laws with the implication that if we live in the spirit (or the Holy Spirit) then the letter of the law would be redundant and best serve as last resort.

He is simply seen as a great prophet in Islam.
