What's new

At least one country is trying to listen to its 'Father of the Nation' - Ashok Swain

. .
If Islam was not adopted as official religion and Pakistan remained secular, then what was the point of breaking up from India with the reasoning, Muslims and Hindus are different nations?

Right before 1950s Pakistanis weren't Muslims lol you people are complete morons.

. .

A correction objectives Resolution was adopted on March 7 1949 and the written constitution in 1956 which basically converted Pakistani state from being secular into a Islamic republic, latter 1971 constitution is the current piece of document responsible for turning Pakistan into a nation of sectarian fanatics. My point was that before that were Pakistanis non Muslims?

The Objective resolution passed in 1949 however laid the foundation of handing over Pakistan to Mullah, the problem is we have the gracious Mullah to tell us what he wants which is problematic since every mullah has his own interpretation of Quran and Islamic texts and every Mullah from different sect hates each other to the guts which has turned Pakistan into a sectarian battle ground.

Okay.

I was only questioning some Pakistanis saying Pakistan should be secular instead of Islamic, which in my opinion invalidates the cause of partition on the grounds that Muslims and Hindus are different nations, thus requiring different countries. If you are to be secular what was the point of partition?

.
I am not an intellectual kind of person...But i personally feel, when Pakistan was decided to be created for Subcontent Muslims, rather than makinh so much fuss about it, we could have amicable settled the migration of Muslims to Pakistan and India could have been a Non Muslim country..So we could have stayed like US and Canada..or take any example of good neighborly countries...
Just to correct myself, i am all talking about historical concept...I beleive the rights of our Indian Muslims in current form..

fuss?

you guys oreshorated mass murders of trains to Pakistan..

the understatement of the century

..... If you are to be secular what was the point of partition?

This question can equally be addressed to Bangladeshis (erstwhile East Pakistanis AKA Bengali Muslims); since they equally participated in that partition of India.

Again with this relentless propaganda? Pakistan was created to keep Muslims safe and preserve their heritage and guide their legacy. Pakistan was not intended to be an Islamic state. Pakistan's existence arose because our forefathers had foresight of what a danger Hindutva would become, not because some mullahs wanted an Islamic state.

What's the question to Bangladeshis? We wanted an Islamic State and sacrificed out lives and blood for it. The in the same state we created, we were discriminated in our own country when we were the majority. We learned from it and created a secular state so nobody is discriminated against. Anyway, this is not a Pakistan/Bangladesh thread. I was questioning one of the Pakistani members who opined Pakistan should be secular.

This poster is asking us that why partition, if Pakistan is to be secular; but is not ready to tell that, why Bangladesh, separate from India, if Bangladesh is to be secular. These people are incorrigible.

Ok then why are some Pakistanis saying making Islam office religion was a mistake and should have stayed secular instead?
SOME not all. Pakistan is what it is, what it could have been is nothing but extraneous talk. However the route Pakistan chooses to follow in the future is of consequence, but be assured Islam wont be going anywhere.

What are you blabbering about? I just gave the answer.

The thread is not about BD, we have chosen our path and not having any arguments whether we should be secular or Islamic. You guys are arguing among yourselves whether your country should be secular or Islamic.
