But you may know or may not know of some reactionary elements on the Indian side of Kashmir like Asiya Andrabi who want to turn Kashmir into the local version of Talibani Afghanistan. Some years ago, she had threatened to throw acid on faces of Kashmiri women who don't wear a full burqa. Also, she and others like her managed to shut down the first all-girl Kashmiri music band called
Pragaash. The band received support from the then CM Omar Abdullah.
I am sure among the militants ( who call themselves as freedom fighters ), there are many whose ideology resembles that of the TTP.
If the Indian Kashmir ever became part of Pakistan, you will have many more Lal Masjids.
No doubt the Pakistani Kashmir looks developed ( Please note that I have not visited the Indian side of Kashmir ).
Also, I gather that there are separatist sentiments in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
All in all, it's not a situation to be taken at face-value.
