Assange: Google Is Not What It Seems

Is there any other alternative to G-mail or any of the Google services which isn't controlled/monitored by the USA!

I too am very particular about my privacy.. heck I even downloaded ghostery(an extension on google) to keep trackers of my back!!

if u really want alternative go : prism break organization they have a good list for everything, sorry cant post URL

. . .
Nothing sucks worse than realizing the extent google go to, to screw over users while simultaneously using slogans like "don't be evil."
So what do use instead of gmail & other google services??

The ultimate privacy -- stay out of the Internet. Simple as that. You people think that using an alternative to Google will keep your privacy ? Your ISPs know more about you than Google does. Your precise location, where you go, and how long you stay there.

Google is a free service. You are not entitled to to its abilities, features, and hardware. But if you chose to avail yourselves of its service, you have no right to complain on what it does with your information, which you made public the moment you got on the Internet anyway. Baidu is better ? That is an even bigger laugh. Baidu is more of a branch of the Chinese government than Google is an associate to the American NSA.

I would agree that Baidu is not any better than Google and probably much worse, but the thing is, China is not pretending to be something that is not, they are not pretending to be a democracy or a champion of internet freedoms, human rights, etc. What they are is very clear cut and out in the open. Everybody knows that. Everybody knows that China is the king of internet censorship and control.

The United States on the other hand, portraits itself as a role model of democracy and a champion of freedom of speech, human rights, liberties, etc, etc. The United States even publishes annual reports where it ranks other countries in terms of how well they do in those categories, so when such a country portraits itself in such a way and judges others, the bar for such country is indeed very high and when it turns out that Americans have been lied, spied and deceived big time by their own government in what has been already established that was illegal under US law, well, its very easy to see why so many people are disappointed.

What has been discovered about the NSA its just the tip of the iceberg anyway and was only found because of accidents like Snowden and Wikileaks. There is a lot more that can be said in terms of such country not following what it preaches to others.

Americans have a right to know how their data is used and have a right to exercise their rights and freedoms as provided by the US constitution. Again, the bar for USA is quite different than for China for the reasons already mentioned.

Complains about the NSA is a different issue. This is about Google. Who is forcing you to use Google ?

The issue is not about anybody being forced to use Google, but the fact that Google is an undercover instrument of US foreign policy as Assange wrote in the article and the issue keeps going back to the fact that people are being deceived as to what those corporations, NGOs, etc are actually doing under the auspices and direction of a US government that is violating its own laws and acts as the "big brother" and in that regard, it fits into the same category as what the NSA and others are doing. Many Americans as well as foreigners are not happy about this situation and the fact that those activities are misrepresented and hidden from the public.

Nobody forces people to use this either Google Analytics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edit:
"Google Analytics is the most widely used website statistics service,[3] currently in use on around 55% of the 10,000 most popular websites.[41] Another market share analysis claims that Google Analytics is used at around 49.95% of the top 1,000,000 websites (as currently ranked by Alexa).[42]"

Google Analytics is used by 66.2% of the 10,000 most popular websites ordered by popularity, as reported by BuiltWith in August, 2013.[43] In May 2008, Pingdom released a survey stating that 161 (or 32%) out of 500 biggest sites globally according to their Alexa rank were using Google Analytics.[44][45]

That's not the issue; you guys are actually avoiding the real issues, maybe you people need to read the article again.

What is Google analytics have to do with what the article says?

What do you expect from the US gov. shills but to defend whatever their gov. does?

They even defend the murder of thousands of US citizens to justify wars of aggression on foreign soils.

These guys will go any length to defend their murderous regime. They preach they fight extremism regardless of the fact that they are not less extremist than those they claim they are fighting against.

This is just like their free media. Hypocrisy at its lowest.

Regrettably, you are right. You would expect that these people would have some minimum sense of impartiality and face the issues that after all, are affecting them, their fellow citizens and their own country, but not, of course not. Never mind, who is forcing you to use Google?
