Asad Umar: Malaysia interested in procuring JF-17 Thunder from Pakistan

This link has confirmation how? the links I gave are saying Malaysian Premier has invited and Pakistani Finance Minister is being quoted. So you decide your self what is more credible source. I have link on this news from every Pakistani News source.

If Pakistan is not going why would Finance minister even mention this @Deino ?
Asad Umar could have been misquoted - it's a matter of grammar. We know that the Malaysian delegation invited Pakistan to participate and showcase the JF-17, Asad Umar said the Pakistan would like to participate, but I don't think that can be done at this late stage.

Malaysia has shown keen interest in procuring JF-17 Thunder fighter planes and anti-tank missiles from Pakistan, Finance Minister Asad Umar told media after delegation-level talks between the two countries' l
Umar said the visiting delegation sought participation of JF-17 Thunder aircraft in a defence fair to be held in Malaysia in the near future.

Two are contradictory comments . Buying and invitation to participate in defense fair where other competitor too are participating are different things .
Let's not count to bird before they are in cage.

One by one,

I think the Malaysians want market access to Pakistan and in return will purchase defense equipment.
Good for both countries.
What I am most interested to see is if Malaysian engineers land up in Kamra.

If jf17 had the ge 414 as an option...this would be a done deal. The rd93 engine is the only concern the Malaysians have according to reports. jf17 is the front runner over tejas or f50 in the Malaysian competition.

What would it take for GE to supply us the engine? They are already providing us turbines for coal plants by the bulk.

(Those who have studied turbomachinery would know that turbines and jet engines are close cousins)

Ge would live the business but you need the Pentagon and whitehouse to sign off on it. Some engineering work may be required to make fit it in the airframe.
