To settle down final peace in the region, India shall be brave enough to cut its ties to the occupied north east area and let an independent Republic of Assam become a reality. Of course the solution should also include letting China take back its south Tibet lands and fulfilling independence demands of smaller political entities around the region.

In doing this, India will gain chance to maneuver away from the hopeless and money burning arms race and border conflicts with its neighbours, and stop spending lives and other resources for suppressing the rebels. More resources can be used to improve its citizens socio-economic wellbeing and a prosperous India can be expected.
