Arabs slam Pak stand on Yemen and Call on Pakistani Parliament to Fall in Line

Screw these habibis .How many times have you got warnings from us when you did not help us when we were fighting a war with india or fighting a war on terror ?
We don,t give two hoots to what you say .We will no longer delude ourselves to help our so called ummah brothers .
I think we have learned something from the past and in the future our every single decision regarding international relations will based on the norms of the 21st century which are mutual interests not stupid religious emotions.
Well decision made by pakistan :pakistan:

its all good. until pakis are no longer preferred over indian expatriates and the investment/aid stop rolling in. So the next time the rupee tanks and you need currency to shore it up i suggest the folks in islamabad look to tehran for hard currency

i think you would find the arabs were busy fighting israel those days and trying to crush it
In 71? have you actually read history?
Because the Ramadan war happened in 73..
And do you want to know which of those Arabs actually lived up to their name despite being one of the smallest militaries? Jordanians!.. they showed up to help when the rest of the Urbis could not be bothered..
Who know who else showed up? the Iranians..

its all good. until pakis are no longer preferred over indian expatriates and the investment/aid stop rolling in. So the next time the rupee tanks and you need currency to shore it up i suggest the folks in islamabad look to tehran for hard currency

They were never preferred before this either. All lies to try and create some fake goodwill that never existed. The only thing the GCC Arabs prefer are westerners whom they worship and consider their oracles.

by the way two iranian IRGC fighters were caught in yemen aiding the houthis in aden. the yemenis are going to hand them over to the saudis. i would hate to be those guys particularly after the houthis klled 3 saudi soldiers on the border

lets get one thing clear. the gulfies do not give a shit about westerners. they even only gave a warning to centcom an hour notice before they started bombing runs.

this is a strictly arab muslim campaign. pakistan was asked because ppl thought they were reliable allies. turns out they were wrong. they have moved on. story ends

If there is no miscarriage in translation then the thread article shows what is wrong

they are telling a "Parliament" to fall in line.

Those are acceptable consequences, however in return Pakistan will be liberated from ALL commitments to maintain the GCC's armed forces, maintain Saudi Arabia's ballistic missile bases among others. Pakistanis at this stage desire nothing more than economic freedom for which rebooting our foreign policy is very important. Iran has a 900km long border with Pakistan, therefore being at good terms with them is also important to us.

GCC is seeking its interests in Yemen. In order to fight in an alliance you need a 'mutual benefit' for which to fight. No such thing exists for Pakistan in Yemen and given our own security situation, its foolish to get tangled in Yemen war.

Just to be fair here:

obama-bowed.jpg

Hence, no point made. Just ctrl+c and ctrl+v

I think Arabs are angry because they are not getting payback for all the money they spent generously on pakistan's aid. They were creating a soldier for them to fight their war and now that soldier is hesitating.I think they are not wrong for expecting this from Pakistan but this is lesson learnt for Pakistan i.e. you will have to pay one way or another you can not take their money and refuse(In future think twice before accepting every dollar coming you way)

we are happy horus if you're happy. That free petrol the saudis provide so that your f16s get to bomb waziristan will have to come from somewhere. I think we should adapt the pak mentality of mutual benefits.

The only good thing from this episode was that it has opened our eyes. better late and never. I would have hated to get fleeced off for the next 30 years.

What i don't get is why does our neutrality in this whole Iranian-GCC rivalry bother certain countries so much??

And besides, Pakistan's guarantee to protect Saudi territorial integrity and Islamic Holy Sites still stands, none of which are threatened by rag tag Houthis.

UAE slams Pak vote on Yemen

(STAFF REPORT) / 11 April 2015

Warns of heavy price for ambiguous stand.

Dubai — The UAE on Friday strongly condemned a Pakistani decision to stay out of the conflict in Yemen, rejecting Saudi demands for Islamabad to join its military coalition against Houthi rebels.

“The Arabian Gulf is in a dangerous confrontation, its strategic security is on the edge, and the moment of truth distinguishes between the real ally and the ally of media and statements,” Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash tweeted after a unanimous resolution passed by a special session of Pakistan’s parliament.

The resolution, however, backed the government’s commitment to protect Saudi Arabia’s territory, which has so far not been threatened by the conflict.

Gargash said Pakistan is required to show a clear stand in favour of its strategic relations with the six-nation Arab Gulf cooperation Council, as contradictory and ambiguous views on this serious matter will have a heavy price to pay (was that a threat?).

“This is nothing but another chapter of laggard impartial stand,” Gargash said, criticising identical views held by Turkey and Iran about the armed conflict in Yemen, as affirmed by the Turkish foreign minister, who had said a political way out of the crisis is the responsibility of Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Tehran seems to be more important to Islamabad and Ankara than the Gulf countries, Gargash added. “Though our economic and investment assets are inevitable, political support is missing at critical moments,” Gargash said.

“The vague and contradictory stands of Pakistan and Turkey are an absolute proof that Arab security — from Libya to Yemen — is the responsibility of none but Arab countries, and the crisis is a real test for neighbouring countries.”

The Pakistan parliament resolution turned down long-standing ally Riyadh’s request for troops, ships and warplanes, saying: “Pakistan should play a mediating role and not get involved in fighting in Yemen.”

“Parliament of Pakistan...underscores the need for continued efforts by the government of Pakistan to find a peaceful resolution of the crisis,” the resolution said.

“(Parliament) desires that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the Yemen conflict so as to be able to play a proactive diplomatic role to end the crisis.”

Saudi Mufti calls for youth conscription

Riyadh — The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, who is also chairman of the senior scholars authority has called for military conscription of youth.

Shaikh Abdul Aziz said: “We must prepare our youth properly to become a shield for us in the holy war against the enemies of religion and the nation.”

In his Friday sermon at Imam Turki bin Abdullah mosque in Riyadh, he said: “We should well look after our youth and prepare them for enlistment, which will enable them dis-charge their duties effectively.”

“This step is important for our youth towards their religion and for protecting their homeland,” he said, adding that the nation should always be prepared to face enemies.

“We are leading a secure life, a boon that others envied us for,” Shaikh Abdul Aziz said and added that while we should be thankful to Allah for this mercy, our nation should remain alert to defend the religion and country through compulsory military training.

“We should be careful and cautious of the enemies who want to spoil our religion, morals and economy, as well as destroying our unity”, he said, adding that to face such chal-lenges, “we must prepare our youth militarily, intellectually and educationally”.

UAE slams Pak vote on Yemen

@Horus @waz @DESERT FIGHTER @Ulla @salarsikander @Armstrong @Umair Nawaz @Jaanbaz @Jungibaaz @Daneshmand @Serpentine

First this statement is not UAE Government official statement, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash tweeted from his personal account. 2nd we were expecting reaction like that if we decided not to jump in this WAR.

What thy can do..! no more aid... or kicking out all Pakistanis from UAE or GCC..?! They dont have trained manpower and almost 30% to 40% Pakistanis are at high level management it will be not so easy to kick them out.
Arabs were interfering in Pakistan almost every internal affairs. They are treating us like they are our kings We should remind them that they are not our KINGS...!

The point is obvious for those who understand. If Pakistan got Saudi oil to do favors so did US. In fact right now, Pakistan refused to be part of this war, but US is helping Saudis in Yemen war. Any thoughts on this?

We are supporting Sauds because reputation of our platforms are at stake. And we don't have boots on ground. Support fire hardly counts. As for oil, well BOY, it has been discussed umpteenth no of times how US is 90% oil independent as I type this post.

OIL is no longer what dictates our foreign policy.

Pakistan needs to get out of the influence of the iranians.

I don't think its the case. Pakistan is making a bog boy call, rightly showing a nuclear power attitude by declining to be involved. That's how big boy roll. Now what Pakistan should do, is to broker a deal. That''s what big boys do. They broker the deal and take everyone's thunder away. This decision alone will create tremendous amount of respect for Pakistan across the globe, specially in the Arab countries. They''ll actually treat Pakistani's better after this is over.

The difference between India and Pakistan is that the Indians, like the Americans, care and support their people overseas. Pakistan doesn't and that's why other feel free to treat them bad. This "NO" is the beginning of a new, powerful, more assertive Pakistan. Who gets involved strategically, not with everything.
