Arabic translation of Bhagavat Geeta in Daeratul Ma’arif

Not only Ulagam, there are two more words of Sanskrit orgin in that..
Aathi(first) and bagawan(god)...
Thiru(holy) is not from Sanskrit, It is purely Dravidian, still using in Tamil-Malayalam languages..

Anti Tamil , Hindian logic - just because such words are in Sanskrit it must be Sanskrit origin ?

The word Bhagavan for God is no where mentioned in Vedas , 1st mentioned in Tirukural and later adopted in the latter day Sanskrit works - agamas and puranas i.e 500 to 600 AD

In Tamil,Bhagavān(Tamil: பகவன்) can find its roots inPagu(பகு) meaning - 'skim',Pagir(பகிர்) meaning - 'share', and hence one skims and clears ultimate, one who shares his own with creation isBhagavān. திருக்குறள்

There are no native words in Tamil which start with ba..all start with pa only..bhagawan is Sanskrit word.

Even bhaagawatam and bhagawatgita has bhagawan in them.

From Wikipedia I got the following

Etymology and meaning
Bhagavān literally means "fortunate, blessed" (from the
noun bhaga , meaning "fortune, wealth", cognate to Slavic
bog " god ", Russian богатый (bogatyj) "wealthy"), and hence
"illustrious, divine, venerable, holy", etc.

Bhagawan doesn't have anything to do with tamil

@dravidianhero @Neuro @mooppan , Kindly note that @manlion is not a Tamil. He's a troll. Check this thread here: Anti Hindi storm brewing in Tamilnadu

He posted a Kannada language newspaper clipping which showed Kannadiga protesters protesting for something else as a protest by Tamils. That much is his knowledge about Tamil. I myself once asked him to translate a Tiruppavai verse. He ran away. If you want to test him, don't even go for Tiruppavai. Just post some 1st standard Tamil kids poem and ask him to translate. He will run away (just post it as a picture so that he doesn't copy-paste and google it)

@manlion you troll. You are talking about Tirukkural. Did you know that Tirukkural has references to many Hindu deities/themes and Sanskrit words? You would have known if you could read Tamil.

there is no need for Tamil to borrow any words from Sanskrit .FYI Bhagavatam / Agamas are of Tamil origin looted/plagiarized in Aryan Sanskrit by Aryans invaders

wonder where Hindutva's Hinduism be w/o Tamils ???

The Agamas are a collection of Sanskrit and Tamil (written in Grantha script and Tamil script)[2]scriptureschiefly constituting the methods of temple construction and creation ofmurti, worship means of deities, philosophical doctrines, meditative practices, attainment of sixfold desires and four kinds of yoga

During Tiruvalluvar's period there was no Sanskrit words in Tamil language i.e manipravalam

Manipravalamwas a literary style used in medieval liturgical texts inSouth India, which used an admixture ofTamil & Sanskrit.[1][2][3]Manipravalam is termed a mixture of Sanskrit &Tamil.[2]Tamil language was the language of the region, part ofTamilakam, at the time of Manipravalam's genesis and use and its introduction caused a significant transition of Malayalam from Tamil in Kerala.[1][4][5]Mani-pravalamliterally meansruby-coral, whereManimeans ruby in Tamil while Pravalam means Coral in Sanskrit.[6]Malayalam is referred to as ruby and Sanskrit as coral.[3]This was prevalent inVaishnavitereligious literature in Tamil Nadu and literary works in Kerala.

Which simply means, Hinduism is as much a Tamil religion as it is a North Indian one, doesn't it?

Manipravalam itself is a dialect that had too many sanskrit words. But why am I wasting time arguing with a known troll like you? Mudhalla nee tamil kaththuttu vandhu appuramaa enkitta pesu.

Sanskrit is Tamil in reverse - live with it , as Tamil is the world's oldest language whereas - Sanskrit is derived from Avestan i.e Persian roots

Mudhala nee tamizh kathhutu vandhu appurama en kitta pesu...what does it mean?

You are right..I read bagawan as pagawan:D
Tamilians couldn't pronounce shri..they changed it into thiru..they couldn't pronounce even ha..so they pronounced it as ga..like aagayam (for aakasham )...agalya (for ahalya ) or ragasyam for rahasyam
Thiru is not from Sanskrit 'Sree'..We use both the words 'Thiru' and 'Sree' in Malayalam...
The correct Tamil word for Sky is 'Vaanam' or 'Vinnu'(same in Malayalam too)..
Sounds like 'ha' was used in classical Tamil and Srilankan Tamil dialects, for e- mahan(son),mahal(daughter),mahaanam(province) etc...

It means, "Learn Tamil first and then come and talk to me". Why should I listen to a troll blathering something about what he doesn't know? I, besides being a Tamil, have learned about Tamil history and grammar for a good 20 years of my life and here is a troll annoying the hell out of me by posting something totally stupid, that I do not even know where to start to show he is stupid. Guys, my humble request is that, unless you are a Tamil do not engage him in a discussion. It is totally annoying to see him post stupid things about my language (not to mention the Kannada newspaper clipping which he mistook for Tamil. It is not even that difficult to recognize Kannada/Telugu scripts from Tamil and he screwed up on that :hitwall:)

Malayalam is a very young language..it has a lot of influence from Sanskrit...I am quite sure even present day malayalis who were once speakers of Sen tamizh and tamilagam used to utter ha as ga and shri as thiru..over a period of time because of growing influence of Brahmins in their society they learnt to pronounce those words a bit properly.

But even now malayalis pronounce many Sanskrit words like tamilians

Ex : jyothi -jyodhi(Tamils say jodhi )..mantri -mandri..lokam -Logam..antham -andham...kataaksham-kadaaksham...tapassu -tabassu etc etc.

He is a Singaporean of Srilankan Muslim ancestry...His sudden love for Tamil is a joke...Srilankan Muslims were recruited/used as 'Spies' in the LTTE wing by the then Srilankan government because of their command over Tamil language(Srilankan Muslims use Tamil as their mother tongue, though they don't consider themselves as ethnic Tamil) and looks exactly like of a typical Srilankan Tamil..

But their original Vedic language did not have scripts. “We have no evidence to show that the Vedic people had any knowledge of writing (or building cities) as the Indus Valley people had.”(Surendaranath Dasgupta -The Cultural Heritage of India – Vol.3 – The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture). The Vedic Aryans, on their arrival, were surprised to find that the Indus Valley people were communicating with each other without speaking or using signs by hand. The written mode of communication was viewed with wonder and astonishment. Their Vedic language, thereby, lacked certain essential features of a language and could not be made to stand on its own legs. So, the Vedic Aryans had to adapt and adopt the scripts, grammar and also the words from Prakrits. Yet, the resurrection of the Vedic language remained only a partial success. It was because of this amalgamation and absorption of Tamil structure, Dravidian (Tamil) influences are, still, far–reaching in the character of Sanskrit and are held to be responsible for the transformation into its present (Sanskrit) form of the original Vedic language.

It is Tamil, which is held to be donor of alphabet system to Sanskrit. Projecting it otherwise is anti-history and would betray the Talibanic mentality of the vested interests in suppressing the hoary history of Tamil.
