Appreciate Bangladesh's View of J&K Being India's Internal Matter: Ministry of External Affairs

India on Thursday appreciated Bangladesh's consistent stand that all developments in Jammu and Kashmir are India's internal matters.

The praise for Bangladesh came in the context of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan raising the Kashmir issue during a telephonic conversation with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday.

Asked about Khan taking up the issue during his call with Hasina, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, "Our relations with Bangladesh are time tested and historic. This year is the celebration of Mujib borsho (centennial birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rah man) and both the countries are taking a lot of steps to strengthen this partnership in this year."

India has also stood with Bangladesh as their ties have been forged by history and common sacrifices, Srivastava said at a MEA briefing.

"As regards to Jammu and Kashmir, we appreciate their (Bangladesh's) consistent stand that J&K and all developments in J&K are matters internal to India. This is a stand that they have always taken," he said.

On the issue of an Indian national being injured recently in the firing by the Nepal Armed Police Force (NAPF) in the 'no man's land' on the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar's Kishanganj, Srivastava said the matter was taken up with Nepal under established mechanisms.

"We have extensive and continuing cooperation on border security and related matters with Nepal. In fact there is positive coordination between relevant departments on both sides," Srivastava said.

"We have established standard operating procedures and mechanisms and under these established SOPs and mechanisms, we have taken up this issue with Nepal," he said.

Asked about US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's remarks that
the US and India need to work together in the wake of the challenges posed by China, Srivastava said, "Since India and China are both prominent countries, this issue (border tensions) has attracted interest all over the world."

"What I can say is that as part of our diplomacy we are engaged with those interested, to convey our viewpoint," he said.

NEW DELHI: Pakistan PM's efforts to strike a chord with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina over Kashmir and SAARC was snubbed with Dhaka’s statement on telephone conversation totally ignoring both the issues.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan telephoned Hasina on Wednesday afternoon but did not receive any positive response in the backdrop of ruling Awami League’s difficult ties with Pakistan for decades. Awami League had been at the forefront of fight against Pak Army and ISI in 1971 and suffered maximum in the genocide.

Pakistan’s role in assassination of Hasina's father and Bangladesh’s first leader has been widely acknowledged. ISI-backed terror groups have been active in Bangladesh under BNP-Jamaat rule. But the Hasina government cracked down after it returned to power in 2008. Pak spy agency’s efforts to support BNP at last elections in 2018 was also foiled.

The statements by PakIstan and Bangladesh governments following the conversation were contrasting.

The foreign ministry of Pakistan issued a statement as did the office of the Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Office.

While Pakistan‘s statement said that Imran Khan spoke of the “grave situation” in what he called “Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” and the need for an early resolution of the problem, the Bangladesh government statement is totally silent on Jammu and Kashmir

While Pakistan has issued a nine paragraph statement, the Bangladesh government statement consists of two paragraphs.

Pakistan said Khan has invited Hasina to visit Pakistan but there is no reference to her acceptance. The Bangladeshi statement does not have any reference to it.

Lol if this makes Indians sleep easy, point being Hasnia is just one PM who may lose the next elections for all we know. Question is what does BD people think about Kashmir? DO they consider it to be internal matter of India?

Hasina will not contest the next general elections, 2023 is her last year in office, she said as much on live German TV.

Ha ha!

The burn..

Everywhere in our vicinity..

LOL at Indian retards and their establishment.

PMIK called Hassena to invite her for official visit to Pakistan. All these issues will be discussed when she comes over to Islamabad.

These self concocted narratives and non sense on matters they don't have any knowledge is rather hilarious.

.
Kashmir banega Pakistan In sha Allah. la Hasina not matter here. She is fake and not even love by her own country men.

.
The question for these insecure indians is why did the Bengali babus had to issue a statement?

.
india has everything to feel insecure. china has replaced india in developmental projects in iran so iran doesnt need to support indian terrorist activities inside pakistan. the relations between iran and pak may improve a little but not to a great extent as iran has some special problem with all its neighbors. dont know the reason for this attitude of iran but probably its the sectarian difference. but surely iran is going towards china . nepal already is inclined towards china and china can use carrot and stick policy for bangladesh making it either neutral or pro china rather then its pro indian approach at the moment.
the phone call by IK has served its purpose. and the purpose was to make india feel more insecure. no body in pak expect from haseena wajid to take a principle stand on kashmir as she just wants to stay in power and she has always been anti pakistan due to obvious reasons.

.
Cheerleaders !! It is a statement from ministry of external affairs not some concocted media report. They would not comment on third party discussions if they weren't certain.

Lol, poor Imran, guy can't catch a break. His rants on twitter got old. No one, not even common Indians are worried about those anymore except for may be comic relief.
