Anza Draws First Blood In Kargil

Ansa was good againt the 3rd gen strike jets, but not a serious threat to 4th Gen air crafts with enough counter measures.

And I don't think all IAF jets flew at high altitude to escape from Ansa/Stinger. In fact, as per intercepts there was instructions from across the border to use it extensively. As per IAF estimates, more than 100 missiles fired afterwords without any success.

:woot: i thought those were 10000 ...strange

But failed to score hits on aircrafts with some sort of ECMs, like Mirage 2000s or Mig-29s.

Well sadly those of your aircrafts never dared to enter Pakistan airspace after losing the downed aircraft. Why dont you guys try it now. We will have a welcome committe waiting to receive them.

Obviously it is not easy to get away from heat seeking missiles . 4 Gen have more probability to survive against these heat seeking. But these man pad or heat seeking missile can make the life of even the 4.5 Gen fighter pilot hell if they have next generation infra red seeker with 3D imaging to differentiate between flare and aircraft.

This Anza series is very effective against low flying object especially helicopters and UAVs.

Unfortunately, my countrymen love to delve in small past glories. Fact still remains that our government and army refused to acknowledge our troops were fighting on those mountains, abandoned them to their fate and refused to take their bodies. In the end we lost Kargil with massive casualties.

Nice thread.

Ignore emotionally charged Indian outbursts.

Negative.

It was a special operation and the men that served knew exactly what they were getting into.

Massive casualties?

Says who?

For the strength of 5,000 men, out of that we lost between 353-453.

indians had a strength of 30,000+ men and lost between 527-600.

Compared to the amount of men we deployed there, we did lose a lot of men, who by the way were denied any air support and later disowned by their own gov.t and army.

Pak Army is nothing but a sissy army, at least its leadership. Only good at bullying, murdering and intimidating its own people.

And what's the source that you're using as a reference?

It was in November 2010, almost 11 years after the Kargil war that the Pakistan Army which had been denying its role in the conflict, finally put the names of 453 soldiers and officers killed in the battle on its official website. The names of 453 Pakistani soldiers was posted in the “Shuhada’s Corner” (Martyrs Corner) of the website who were shown killed in Batalik-Kargil sector of the Jammu and Kashmir. The army also revealed the codename given to the operation to occupy strategic mountains and heights on the Indian side of the LoC “Operation Koh-e-Paima” or Mountain of Resolve.

Kargil probe body had sought Musharraf

Send young men to fight till their deaths against a numerically and technologically superior enemy, and then disown them and refuse to take their bodies back.

Only thing this army is capable of (it leaders, not the average soldier, or at least no all of them) is intimidating, bullying, and killing its own people.
