Another blunder of Experienced Govt: Most expansive solar power project

.

NEPRA refutes this Quad e Azam Solar Park project in Bahawalpur, calls it most expansive and and useless project.

Is it another intentional white elephant of PML-N govt to create PR and do massive corruption or they just did another blunder?

This report is complete crock of s--t and farce, paid for by the oil fired power plant owners. Up front cost to set up a plant are high, after the start of production biggest cost are manpower and raw material, in Pakistans case, we are blessed with solar and almost non exsistence of oil. Report suggest, we set up more oil fired plants.

In this case the deal makes sence, commercial loans = interest first then principle. So if the rates are high that means loan, principle plus interest and profits, must be recoup rated, with in a set period.

Until pakistani politicians can sign a deal with international company to build a power plant for free, this is the only way, Like it or not. No one will invest in Pakistan, if they don't stand to make money on their investment.

Ontario, Canada is paying up to 80 cents per kilowatt produced by solar power. That's lot higher then 14 rupees agreed by GOP.

Regardless of what plant you set up, your cost will be very high in Pakistan, for the reasons i have mentioned.

If your Immi Khan can do a better job, so be it. So you would rather not have electric power than have expensive power?

Yup. Sounds like an ignorant PTian to me.

Solar / Wind is way to go .... and even if it costs more initially

It is a avenue that is safest

That's quite an outrageous price, most new bids are much lower. The latest bids in India's auction were around 8 cents and there have been bids in Dubai , in Texas & Nevada which are even lower than that.

80 percent of pakisi budget goes waste end up in pockets of dirty terrorist polititions i call them ecnomic terrorist becoz these filths people die by poverty

ok give this all qaid e azam solar park power to bahawalpur district only we will happy to use it

I had already said the same thing in my discussion with @Shah01 here: Loadshedding to end-2017 PM ..After failing in past a new promise .. LOL | Page 2

Solar power is the most expensive power in the world:

Would you be so kind to shed more light, or point me to a more reliable source, as to why Wind and Solar Thermal power are so expensive?

Honestly, I can't believe the stupidity that surrounds this thread.

First of all, if you want to compare electricity cost with other nations, convert the damn currency.

People are refercing India and Canada without converting the currency to PKR. 8 Indian rupees is not the same as 8 Pakistani rupees.

Second, not many want to do business with Pakistan due to all these Youthias and alike who can't see stable govt. when Imran gets atop his dance container and says he won't pay any debt/loans signed by PML, who in their right mind would risk money? Thus India has more options and thanks to competition, they can get more competitive rates.

Finally, people want to invest in India where Youthias don't exist. India need not to take loans to build these. Most often they build themselves or someone invests, which is going to be cheaper. When you're taking loan, obviously the rate will be more expensive because it takes into account the interest.

So dear Youthias, learn some math and common knowledge.

This project is being financed by loans, and look how they are wasting the money. Double set back for the country because we have some d!ckheads in govt.

lol i feel which country needs enemies when we have political leaders like these in our countries and sad part is viable options are limited and scarce. Imran khan is an option but i m seeing here he too is been pulled down despite not being tested even once at national level and NS and PPP have got many chances

After seeing both of your discussion, this is THE PERFECT example of.....a Blind leading a Blind :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: :crazy:

Bahawalpur solar plant is giving electricity at 17 Rupees/unit ..while same chinese company is providing solar power in different tropical countries at 11 ...

Eventhough bahawalpur is most suitable for solar stations where it produce more energy ... It should have been at max 8 rupees/unit

Would you like to post those "Tropical Nation's" GDP's, internal economy, security and global financial situation too? And while you are at it, try to post total lost revenue for unpaid electric consumption (stealing electricity, which, in Pakistan, results in losing over 30% of the entire electric production).

I bet you, their electric drainage or losses are MUCH less to non-existent!!! Hence the reason for the distribution network to purchase at a higher price.

Plus, if you are introducing a NEW Tech (Solar energy production, which is extremely important for Pakistan to get, master it, and later use it in different items across the country), you always pay more. Until the rules of "economies of scales" are applicable (please google economies of scale before just posting stuff without proper understanding of the real issue).

Before you go on harping, you need to realize that the cost per unit is determined by NEPRA. Basically, the cost at which they will buy electricity from the power producer.....this has to be high because there is large amount of power that will never be paid up because of thefty/distribution losses, meaning the average price at which NEPRA has to purchase is very high. So this is the price they quote, and you will see that many different type of energy generation figures are around the 14 Rs mark.

If more and more people actually paid for the electricity consumed, then NEPRA will have more revenue to play with, thus bringing the cost of electricity down.

No one is interested in facts here

Then shed some divine light and enlighten us, O wise one!!

I am no where close to being a "Wise One". But I do have common sense and can see Red vs. Green. Red is danger and its IK and his silly, unsafe politics for Pakistan and its nation, resulting in 0 help for the poor people of Pakistan. In fact its more violent, fraud and lying being put into a society that doesn't need it as its trying to get rid of these 80's lie-based politics.

Green is prosperity, people's welfare and things getting done without risk to the country or its population In fact, the green also represents the progress being made on public welfare project by the current government's project's portfolio. Which has already started to, and will help hundreds of millions of average, poor Pakistanis in the long run.

I did a break down the entire cost issue for you in the same post that you ignored, but quoted just one line out of. I'd suggest reading it again. I wrote common sense and mathematics on there, may be you'll get some wisdom out of my common sense? :enjoy:

Its better to be blind to give a chance to untested politician rather then having vision but not seeing the working of present day leaders who have been given so many chances :chilli:

Then you should kick out Modi IMMEDIATELY and give the chance to that peace-oriented guy who did two or three hunger strikes, instead of killing scores of minorities and starting a war-phobia in the country when 600 million people can't take a shiit properly.......(literally)........
