What you should be worrying about is not their content but their motive and their effect on Afghan people. ;) You're missing the trees for the woods.

woods for the tress friend

Mohmand is a Pakistani/Afghan tribe with a large section of members in Afghanistan while some are in Mohmand agency. It is more worrying that some of our own countrymen can be traitors to state and people unfortunately. The problem of vouching for ethnicity over nation is a problem in almost each of us, not just pashtuns. Voting for terror mafia MQM is a sign of the ethnic problem and the justification of its terror after Ajmal Pahari admitted to being trained in India for target killings is most worrying.

Then we have BLA and BRA, BLUF...

The durand line is indeed the border and is recognized by not just "Punjabis" but by Pakistani Pashtuns as well. It was the partition of Pakhtunkhwa. After that event and from there our histories diverged. Pashtuns on this side of the durand line thenceforth worked to create a united Pakistan while the northern pashtuns were fed propaganda that the lar pashtuns were waiting for them with open arms. Bacha Khan further reinforced this ideal.

I am only a wannabe pashtun at best with weak links which aren't even proven but I believe others may be able to answer the misconceptions of Mahbooba and this other guy well. They are both genuine Afghans from Afghanistan. I am more worried about the Toramana's and Tor Khans of pashtunforums.

I believe only we can get ourselves out of the entangling web of ethnic supremacy. We can make ethnicity inconsequential but we remain trapped in this web.

Agree with every word you said, but the main hurdle would be to convince them that Pakistan isn't only Punjab, if you tell them the names of Pushtuns who have served as generals in the army or in top potions of Pakistani govt, they refer to them as Punjabisized Pushtuns, this mindset will never let peace prevail in this region !!!

I've seen many Pak Pashtuns try that and fail and than labelled as punjabised Pashtuns or punjabi slaves ..

Brother you have to consider the reasons for this mindset .. Even after decades (after the modern Afghabistan came into being) these people are still killing and hating eachother of ethnic differences .. Even now ANA (which is predominately non Pashtun) doesn't trust Pashtuns and the Pashtuns complain about it .. In the 90s they were massacring eachothers ... They don't have much unity in their own county (try visiting Afghan forums)... How can they understand Pak ..

My neighbours are Pashtuns.. My teacher is a Sindhi... My frnd is a Kashmiri .. My classmate is a Brushaski .. My driver is a Punjabi .. The canteen Wala chacha is a seriaki .. I'm a baluch .. Etx.. If you know what I mean:

Whenever these Afghans come to this site they are given a rude reminder that generally Pashtuns love and respect Pakistan as much as any other ethnic group. There are only some black sheep that are engaged in giving the fire of Afghan idiocy, air.

What this man is paroting is exactly the Afghan view on the partition. You would note that Afghanistan even till today did not accept the state of Pakistan as a nation, even under taliban rule. Iran was the first state to accept us and later arab nations. Afghanistan never accepted our independence. They have a belief that all lar pashtuns are either waiting for them.

Do note that they do not have a very positive opinion of pashtuns on this side as well. They call them "punjabian slaves", dal khor and other horrid terms.

The good thing about these Afghans though is they know history, even if it is twisted for themselves. The man in the background is Ahmed Shah Abdali founder of the Durrani empire. Very few Pakistanis, including pashtuns here know about him. With a lack of knowledge in history we can never beat the pashtun nationalists (ones who support Afghanistan over their own nation) and Afghan nationals in debate. This weakness led me to study pashtuns and I fell in love with the culture. My research led to the writing of one book...

anyway I believe we should work hard to improve the conditions of life for each Pakistani citizen. Leave the Afghans. They are not only economically and culturally backward with Peshawar being the center of Pashtun culture, traditions, music, movies, arts and crafts and embroidary. No one in his right mind would currently want to be part of Afghanistan. 30 million+ pashtuns live here and this is their home. If someone wants to pull the other from his home he will be given a rude reminder of our peoples loyalty. Afghanistan tried to push the issue once with the invasion of Bajaur.

This is what I always tell them Pakistan has more than twice the number of Pushtuns in Afghanistan, minority can never claim majority its the other way, using their logic (though I dont agree with it) Pakistan should incorporate Eastern/Souther Afghanistan into KPK, since they are pushtun areas. Same goes for Tajkistan and Uzbekistan, they should lay claim to Tajik and Uzbek areas of Afghanistan.

The funny thing is look at switzerland, 60% of people speak german and 20% speak french, France and Germany never laid a claim to switzerland, man it would be a mountainous task to actually have a sane discussion with these supporters of Loy Afghanistan !!!

afghanistan recognized pakistan in 1974 on the occasion of OIC because of the persuasion of King Faisal. They are the last country in the world to recognize us.

One more thing brother, u mentioned about writing a book, is it complete yet, if yes I'd love to read it

The situation in Karachi ultimately proves that we aren't much different from the Afghans. 3000 people died from 1985-1990 and 10000 from the year 1986-1996... if that isn't our cheap ethnic mindset at work I don't know what is. As a urdu speaker by birth with only limited pashtun links if any I know the hatred my people have for everyone other than themselves. Also note some of rockstars and W11's posts and you will get the answer how racist we are. I don't think its much different with other ethnicities. I have uncles who call pashtuns animals and say in front of their Sindhi watchmen that Sindhis are slaves. So how are we different.

In the 1990's Afghan people supported factions on the base of ethnicity and were divided by the same ethnicity. Do note that Sindhis support PPP and have factions like JSQM which vouch for the break up of Pakistan. Do note people have found jinnahpur maps in MQM offices and Ajmal Pahari was trained by India. We have BLA and BLUF. So how far are we different from them? Given the right fire anything will burn just as my city Karachi is burning. Bengal happened once and it can happen again? Why? WEll the ethnic mindset exists in all of us

Politics in Pakistan shows that people still vote on ethnicity. Punjabis PMLN. Sindhis PPP. Karachi MQM, Hazaras HDP, Balochs BNP. Now give all of them arms and you have a situation. I feel I am beyond the ethnicity issue but is everyone? In fact I am so into it that I believe critical thinking over ethnicity by condemning our own.

Other than promoting and protecting history and culture there should be no place for ethnicity in society. Afghanistan stands as an example of what could happen to us if we are not careful.

Bro the best way to work in such a situation is to work on the newer generations and educated people. Jahil Babayon k sath insan jahil he ho jata ha.

Why is so much importance being given to what this joker or others like him say? The Farsi Afghans are not fans of Pakistan for many reasons and on an official level, Pakistan has never had good relations with Afghanistan.

They were the only country for example who objected to Pakistan UN's membership.

If you really wants to know what Afghans think of Pakistan, just speak to one that you see out in the streets. Forget the 'mummy daddys' of twitter.

I wonder if it is him on the PDF with the user name @Samandri

I wonder if this moron has read Moulvi Fazlul Haq's booklet (actually a report) "Muslim suffering under Congress Rule".
I am a Marwat, not a Thakkar and i am not running any "Great Afghanistan Movement"...........its waste of time and energies, in this short life span its better to be dedicated to Allah and his makhlooq. Watan-parasti is as much wrong as Qaum-parasti.

Are you a Pashtun?. Judging from Thakkar surname, the dude in the video is originally from KPK, Pakistan.........

He is an intellectual in an Afghan context lol, they refer him as Great Mashal Khan Takkar, he is literally worshiped by them
How you reached to that conclusion? he is a nobody..............I doubt many Afghans know him, this man originally belongs to KPK

What's up with the pictures of Abdali?

Abdali's efforts to help the Muslims on both sides of the Indus and in the Deccan against Marathas and Sikhs catalyzed the formation of Pakistan. Do Afghan nationalists ever consider that point?

Abdali was a great man he saw beyond the petty issues that today's Afghans cling to. He was a helper to the ancestors of those who reside in modern day Pakistan.

Why don't they just blame Abdali for Pakistan then?
