What's new

An open letter to the West from a Muslim!

People don't change.

Not in such a short time span.

Europe is still very much the same it has always been. Bosnia should have alerted the muslims to where things are moving.

Not just Europe but we see now a similar sentiment across the Buddhist world.. Legitimate or not the reasons are a wave of anti Muslim sentiment sweeping through Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand.. Almost all as reactionary forces, All most accommodating nations atleast for the Muslim community just decades ago.. So while the OP address's Europe in particular, It's not confined to the region

. .
Letter and discussion reminds me of A German's View on Islam:

'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come...

Wow this is actually spine chilling.. The silent majority or are they just as complicit ?

I see it as an orthodoxy, an inherent lack of respect or even acceptance, leave alone tolerance, of other peoples and other faiths and customs, which gets translated to a failure to assimilate all over the world.

I see it as a relative recent phenomenon, A result of globalization, Ease of travel, Communication.. Mass propagation of middle eastern archaic tribal customs in the guise of Islam, Though new found wealth in that region through the oil industry.. Specially from Saudi Arabia taking advantage of it's holy places.. Communities that have been assimilated for millenia around the world suddenly becoming fundamentalist in their thought's and out look, Suddenly segregating themselves especially women.. Making rest of the nation jittery, Suddenly seeing things totally alien to their way of life imposed.. This trend is common not only in Europe but else where as well

While I do agree with you to some extent, can saudi influence be the explanation for everything that ails the muslim world.

Do not muslims around the world have hearts and minds of their own. Hence, should not a significant part of the blame rest on their collective shoulders?

Where was the saudi influence when India was divided?

Saudi influence in propagating fundamentalism is just one important aspect.. I did not emphasis it as the sole reason

Mind you neither of the countries i mentioned are divided as well.. But that is not to say there are a growing discontent in those countries, something that had been in India for even longer

Is it any coincidence that some of the most virulent European muslim anarchy comes from that region?

Cause and effect. Which came first?

When looking at the history of the region, there is no real surprise as to what had happened.
