This is very interesting and could change the political scenario in this nation.

Such an alliance or a merger will definitely shake the political core of this nation and I for one would like to see this happen.

MQM has a history of making bold political mergers, and I think its the right choice

I think Nizam of Karachi as President , and Imran Khan as the Prime Minister would be good for Nation - with Musharraf sahib in charge of foreign strategy weapons / and growth country

would be ideal for our nation , in an ideal world -

Prime Minster : Imran Khan
President : Mustafa kamal
Foreign Policy: Musharif
Finance : Nawaz Sharif

This would be ideal case for a good solid democracy in Pakistan provided ppl can co exist or , I would be happy with just Tehreek e insaf to bring in change

i would have really bothered more abt this news, if it was not altaf for mqm... some riht guy like mustafa kemal khish bakht shujaat etc

Our people should really stop obsesisng about past leaders like Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif. They already ruled Pakistan, they had their time, they should retire and move on with their lives. Because of Musharraf we are suffering because of war OF terror, and I think you must be crazy to put a thief like Nawaz Sharif in charge of finance. We Pakistanis never learn from our mistakes.

As for MQM, they only have suport in Karachi and Hyderabad, while all across Pakistan you will find substantial support for Imran Khan. MQM knows this thats why they want to make peace with Imran Khan.

No surprises here. MQM has always tried to talk to people willing to do that. It must be just a talk. Otherwise they have nothing in common. Altaf has even toured India. How hard is it to talk to Imran?

I think IK shouldnot go for any alliance with MQM, however its good that he is mature enough now to understand that MQM CANNOT be ruled out from political scenario of PAKistan. and that he should develop normal relations with all the regional parties, if he wants to emerge as a NATIONAL LEADER.

As much as i hate MQM for their tactics in Karachi we cannot rule out that they have support there . Its a good omen for Imran Khan because it was initiated by Altaf Hussain. Q league is on good terms with Imran , now MQM is trying for good terms with him . This could be Imran's rise to the national scene because his main support base lies in Urban Punjab and KP .

Hmm... A potential alliance of PTI, MQM, and Q-League? I think people realizing how much Imran Khan has become so popular in such a little time, and now want to take advantage of this opportunity by aligning themselves with his party. I believe IK alone cannot achieve whats best for our nation, but I am not sure of this alliance (if it is) to succeed any. Just my opinion!

MQM felt IK is the next leader of Pakistan and therefore took a clever step to get rid of the political grudges with each other.

Burying the hatchet: Imran calls up Altaf, agrees to work together

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman appreciates stance taken by Altaf Hussain.
ISLAMABAD:

After years of political animosity, Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Altaf Hussain’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) appear to be coming closer as the two leaders held their first telephonic conversation and exchanged good will with each other.

In a rare move, Imran Khan called Altaf Hussain on Saturday and appreciated the ‘bold’ stance taken by the latter on national issues, separate but identical statements issued by media offices of both the parties said.

The two leaders agreed to bury their past differences and vowed to work together for the betterment of the country, the statements added.

PTI and MQM have been considered staunch rivals in the past, at times holding public rallies and resorting to personal attacks against each other’s leadership.

Recently, however, the two parties have come closer, mainly due to back-channel efforts by some common friends and political leaders in Pakistan, observers say.

The second-tier leadership of the two parties prepared the ground that culminated in direct interaction between their leaders.

During their conversation, both sides discussed common agenda points and vowed to work together to achieve their goals.

Altaf Hussain has recently started taking a tough stance in public, on issues like unabated US predator attacks inside Pakistani territory, release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis and Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

The same issues take centre-stage in Imran Khan, and several right-wing parties’, political agendas.

So any guesses on who these common friends may be?

well in politics BEGHARITI is common!!

i think all Imran supporters should now shutup about "principal" and all "zaani" calling MQM supporters should also back down and admit that mqm has no principal as well.

POLITICS HAS NO PRINCIPALS.
