WASHINGTON -- Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a pair of U.S. officials told the Associated Press that is “highly likely” that Iran intentionally shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane, killing all 176 people on board. The officials said they did not know for certain that Iran shot down the plane or the intent in doing so, but intelligence suggests an anti-aircraft missile was fired by Iran at the plane.

The plane crashed in the town of Shahedshahr Wednesday just hours after Iran launched a missile strike at an Iraqi base where U.S. troops were being housed. President Donald Trump acknowledged the possibility of the plane experiencing a mechanical issue while in the air, but dismissed that theory.

“Somebody could have made a mistake on the other side....Some people say it was mechanical,I personally don’t think that’s even a question," Trump said.

The officials who spoke to the AP wouldn’t say what exactly led them to believe the plane was shot down, but did confirm sensors, satellites and other communications could have led them to their belief. The plane crashed just minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran.

The pilot did not send any messages to the control tower indicating any problems with the plane prior to the plane losing communication. Eyewitnesses said the plane was engulfed in flames before it hit the ground.

LOL that is as fake as fu*k

A missile hit thin air and exploded? No airplane lights, nothing?
And this guy was supposedly just filming empty air for fun
you can check it with the other vid, when the plane is on fire... you will see the exact pattern... a small fire coming from the wing/engine...
What do you think will happen? 2km Kaboom hollywood one?

Iran denies 'illogical rumors' about Ukrainian plane being hit by missile: ISNA

(Reuters) - The head of Iran’s of Civil Aviation Organization on Thursday denied “illogical rumors” that a Ukrainian airliner that crashed near Tehran had been hit by a missile, the semi-official news agency ISNA reported.

“Scientifically, it is impossible that a missile hit the Ukrainian plane, and such rumors are illogical,” ISNA quoted Ali Abedzadeh as saying.

U.S. officials said on Thursday that the plane had most likely been brought down accidentally by Iranian air defenses. Ukraine outlined four potential scenarios to explain the crash, including a missile strike and terrorism.

What science are they using to write scientifically it’s impossible for a missile to hit plane?

What are they for then, Stars or Mars?

Probably one of the most obtuse thought processes I have ever read. "He started it" is a common American phrase when a child gets in trouble for being rough with a brother/sister, etc.
As much as I don't want to agree with you lol. You're right. It's not the pilots fault for taking off, how the hell is he supposed to know Iran was retaliating, It's Iran's responsibility to ground flights temporarily.

Obviously they have more information regarding the issue hence why they made that statements. Let's just wait and see the outcome of investigation. I hear representatives from Boeing etc are there now.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish and Pegasus airlines will resume flights to Iran and Iraq on Thursday night, company sources told Reuters, after they halted flights for some 24 hours due to tensions between Iran and the United States.

Turkish Airlines will fly to Tehran out of Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport at 1805 GMT on Thursday, one source said. A second source said Pegasus Airlines would fly to Tehran at 2050 GMT out of the same airport.
