Compared to todays standard... everyone was a barbarian a century ago.

Except for the british ofcourse.

Yeah, they brought development and civilisation. We can ignore the millions they killed in Bengal alone and millions in rest of the subcontinent but Afghans and Mughal kings were barbarians who killed only those in the battle-field directly involved in the fight. But British were so good even though they raped subcontinent and stole our resources while the mughals settled here and made it their home, born and died here.. But still they were barbarians.

Real question should be: "Why do Pakistani's glorify recent invaders, instead of ancient invaders?"

What about Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam, Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Dr. A. Q Khan. And yes Mughals and Muslim rulers of the subcontinent are part of our heritage and so are the Afghan kings who defeated the evil and satanic forces. If someone's got the problem with the choice of Pakistani people, they can self immolate themselves in anger.

Conquests and campaigns are how history is made, all of these have there positives and negatives. But all of these made the world what is it today. It's like floods that make catastrophic damages but still is important part of nature and have there part in development.
On the matter of heroes or barbarians it depends on where the observer stands.

I do like the idea of naming our weapons based on local heroes and may be based on local language words.

Weapon names based on territories that Pakistan wanted but couldn't get would be fun. Like Kashmir cruise missile, junagadh battle tank
