Alauddin Khilji item number

Yes for priests in temple cities, not in the royal court.I never said our culture is perfect, its filled with perversions as well. But moral behaviour of indian monarchs was much superior to these outside steppe invader kings. There can be no glorification of paedophilia and rape, whther priests in temple do it or kings like khilji do it.There can be no justification of destruction of nalanda and vikramashila. Its not rss history, its simply humanity.
when priests are engaging in it how on earth ur rulers wont? And moral behaviors of Sub con monarchs was even worse then that of what u call "steppe invaders" . Btw khilji was from pak-afg region. Its just that u have been reading typical rss revisionist history where everyone who was a muslim was a paedo, rapist etc etc. if u had read history with lens of bias shoved aside u wud see the heinous acts local hidnu rajas were engaged in. May be for u raja Dahir marrying his sister is a sign of progressive mindset.

But icant help someone whose source of history is rss schools just like he claims just cause dholavira jas a biggest bath tub well hence its more advanced than city of mohenjodaro a city whose only 10 pc part ahs been excavated thus far.

Most people on this forum will try to justify history. My ancestors invaded yours. My ancestors ruled yours. My ancestors were supreme. My ancestors were the first to climb down from the tree. The historical equivalent of 'my dad can beat up your dad'. Sure you can learn from history, be respectful of history, but what have you done to be proud of it other than be born into it? To me it seems a bit like a rich kid sneering at a poor kid.

And what has all these 'great lineages' achieved? A bunch of people who are more similar than they will ever admit, sitting in front of a PC to argue about the merits of a movie, claiming the fictional representation of someone who lived 1000's of years ago wasn't upto their standards.
ROFL
hands down a quality post by yourself.
you have summed it up so well. bless you

specific to this thread we are fighting over a bollywood movie which has caused controversy on both sides of the border for different reasons, movie is made with commercial interests in mind (tweaked storyline) so I dont think that religious blowhards on both sides of border should feel hurt over it

Hes only considered a hero in sindh and i am aware of it but i have never seen him celebrated in other parts of paksitan and thats cause of tales of cruelty associated with him, who was known to suppress locals and attack and loot merchant ships. And whether marrying sister is bs or not this part is documented in many history narrations. It is said he was suggested to do that to save his throne. Had it not been him looting merchant ships and abducting arab women qasim would not have attacked him , and why local populace stood against him and didnt support him?

Just cause sindhi people want to glorify him due to common heritage and ethnicity doesnt mean he will automatically turn into a hero for rest of us too.

I am not speaking against him due to his faith etc when i can own likes of chankaya then why not dahir but hes not my hero ,Tho i am open to more neutral n unbiased accounts of history

Plz show examples of moral behaviours worse than bachabaazi, paedophilia, eunuch slavery, mass rape of conquered women amongst indian rulers on the scale practiced by sultanate/ghazni rulers.Admittedly the mughals were better and can perhaps be regarded as true great rulers except aurangzeb.
There is no revisionism in the fact that bhaktiyar khilji destroyed nalanda and vikramashila and slaughtered the defenceless monks.Eunuch slavery, bachabazi were introduced to the subcontinent by turko afghan steppe savages. How can any one glorify such acts? Its not possible.Khiljis were turks who settled in afghan region and came to india with ghurids, they were among the band of forty nobles of illtutmish - the prominent ghulams(mamluk slave soldiers). They didn't have a civilization their own, everything good about their culture came from persian tradition.Thats why you see balban and every other sultanate ruler after him aping royal persian court culture, language and tradition.
The only sultanate ruler who cared about the welfare of subjects was firuz shah tughluq who did irrigation projects and opened workshops, even though he was a poor administrator who bankrupted the state and was a religious bigot. The sultanate era was a passing phase - a trend of medieval era of steppe nomads to enjoy military superiority over sedentiary societies with their cavalry armies that has now gone into oblivion never to return much like china under manchus and mongols. The land has returned to their original inhabitants, and the lands these invaders came from now irrelevant.Cycle of history is complete.

P.S -I never claimed dholavira was the most advanced,i said the bath well in dholavira is bigger and more advnaced. There are several advancements found in indian sites not found in mahenjo daro or harappa, thats a fact not revisionism.I merely refuted the claim that IVC belonged to pak alone,i didn't claim it for india solely.

The story of Dahir marrying his sister goes back to the Chachnamah, when a hindu astrologer predicted that whoever married the princess would become the King.

"Then the king asked: “What do the stars say about my sister Bái's fortune”; and the astrologer replied: “My calculations lead to the inference that she shall never go out of this fort of Alór and that no one shall be married to her except the king, who shall have the kingdom of Hindustán under his sway and dominion: this girl shall be united to him by the tie of marriage.” When the astrologer explained this matter to him, Dáhar became sunk in thought as to how that would come to pass. He returned home, and disclosed everything to Budhiman the Tákí Wazír, who was the prime minister of his father ...

Thus when all of them agreed to the proposal, Dáhar went and put his own scarf on his sister's head, and adorned her with rings and other ornaments (as his bride). He then placed his own sword in her lap, and with that (in lieu of the bridegroom) all the familiar nuptial ceremonies were performed. Then he tied a corner of her scarf to that of his own, and seated her on the throne of the kingdom by his side under the (royal) canopy."

"THE CONQUEST OF HIND AND SIND
An account of Rai Dáhar son of Chach??son of Selaij and his death at the hands of Muhammad Kásim."

How true this is, cant say, but the Chachnamah gives an excellent account of Sindh and the wider Indus region during its time era.
