I know as the transistor gets smaller chance of failure rises due to quantum tunneling of electrons...
but there are fail-safe devices in place for that.. 14nm is actually quite big for that to become a real issue... I think.
and even if you produce the processor yourself failure rates aren't going to change because YOU made it.
by this logic no one should know why their server crashed because everyone's on Xeon processors
C'mon buddy, how many planes and spacecraft do we produce annually? You know it'd be a dead investment...
