There was a USAF Pilot Lt. Ali Jivanjee (Of Pakistani Origin) Who died because when he was simulating combat with his squadron mate the metal line or whatever it is between the F15 Canopy blocked his view few seconds hence F15 collided with other F15 (Both were flying too close). The Pakistani American Pilot died instantly on collision unfortunately but the other pilot survived.

Oh man, I heard about this, but didn't know he was from my old squadron, the 58th TFS Gorillas. The patch is obvious. RIP and clear skies.

The enlisted personnel on the jet are the dedicated crew chiefs. There are no enlisted pilots in the USAF. But they take great pride in their jets.

Tinting isn't done for sun glare as many think, it's done to reduce the RCS of the jet. If given a choice, most pilots prefer a clear canopy, as they let more light in and don't reduce visual acuity. We trained ourselves to fly with even the helmet visor up. You can see better overall. It's easy to demonstrate... on a sunny day, go outside and find a very distant small object at the limits of your vision. Now, put on sun glasses, and watch as your ability to see detail is reduced.

The F-22 have tinted canopies . Bubble canopies in the true sense are not yet seen on most of the aircrafts.

sir he is indian...and its better that he got killed ....americans would have sent him to afghanistan and iraq where he would have killed innocent women and children in the name of safeguarding Great American Values reflected by American soldiers in the form of sex games in abu gharib, torture of Pakistani females kidnapped from Pakistan and tortured in bagram and gitmo, mutilation of body parts from dead afghan civilians as war trophys by kill teams,Voilating Pakistan airspace daily and killing men and women,Sending mercenaries to Pakistan in the name of diplomacy and killing civilians in broad day light.
Please keep politics out of threads and he was not Indian American. He was Pakistani American.Regardless he was an American first and it was his duty to protect his country from all threats.

I doubt I've ever seen more garbage wrapped up into one fat run-on sentence than this.

First of all, unless those women and children are piloting MiG-29's or Su-27's, it is unlikely he'd kill them. The 58th was a dedicated air to air unit. Currently, they are transitioning to the F-35 and will be a training outfit.

To ascribe bogus national policies to an individual, especially one who died training to defend his nation, is just grossly rude.

The famous scene from the movie TopGun....

At 1:16 in the clip... Is it a serious issue with canopies or (hopefully) a rare occurrence (a pilot hitting the canopy during ejection) ?

Never happened.. never will.. Aircraft seat come with a canopy breaker in case the release system does not work.
It also serves to keep the pilots head safe.
