Since last week Pakistan has seen waves of terrorist violence that has killed hundreds of innocent Pakistanis including women and children. No one can deny that there is a responsibility on media outlets to report these acts of violence and terror in an unbiased manner. In almost every act of terror, there are victims and their voice should be heard as well. It is a wrong notion that reporting the acts of violence endorses those acts and gives credence to the perpetrators of these acts. What really give credence to these terrorists are the conspiracy theorists who always like to steer the conversation away from the focus and create confusion. As communicators it becomes an obligation on everyone in this field to tell the story truthfully for the sake of the victims who suffer because of these acts. There are no studies that endorse the concept that by not ‘reporting the acts of violence and terror’ reduces these acts. I would think otherwise. By not highlighting and condemning an act of terror, we only encourage the terrorist to continue with their evil deed. Let us take the example of terrorism in the Afghanistan and Pakistan region. We have seen the narrative change, and the terrorists who were looked upon as the “religious worriers” are now being called “brutal killers,” who just want to kill and create chaos in the region to further their evil agenda. In Pakistan, we have seen that people have identified terrorism as the main threat to its existence. Media has played a very important role in this regard by highlighting the atrocities committed by the terrorists against innocent civilians.

Media has a responsibility to report these acts of terror without biases for the sake of the victims and the nations that suffers due to these terror attacks. We, at U.S. CENTCOM, stand with the people of Pakistan in these difficult time and our condolences and prayers go out to families of victims of these terrible attacks. We also support the Pakistani security forces in their quest for security and peace for their region.

Please tell your american media first about non-bias reporting. All the coverage of Iraq,Yemen.Israel and of the endless lists of countries...
Anyway, as your thread is Pakistan specific, we shall not discuss it any further.

The innocent killed during the drone strikes should also be considered as an act of terrorism and
The Salala incident etc...

Please tell by what qualification does CENTCOM guide the role of media. It is not the responsibility of CENTCOM to teach what a media does but proper professionals and exclusive institutes have this job.
CENTCOM at the very best can advise the American media but the thread is opened in the Pakistan section....
(also what has been stated is the abc of journalism. anything done other wise is unprofessional.(((Stating the obvious)))...)

Anyway, though if someone acts on what he says, it is more effective, but it is good to see such messages as it helps in a constructive way.

Funny US also does not consider Afghan Taliban terrorists.

I wonder if Afghan Taliban who what USA claims are involved in killing Afghan nationals and also many USA nationals fit in the definition of terrorism by which they can be sanctioned by the state or justice or whatever department it is related?
Anyway, Nobody is expecting @CENTCOM to reply to all this and you are free not to. Have a nice day... MR.RMS{ I am expecting this is the short form of your name, as before full name of the CENTCOM representative was used to be given in the posts.}

(1) Umm, America has also killed hundreds of innocent people, including women and children in Pakistan (including 80 kids in a school) by drones and direct commando operations (e.g. Nawa adda). Outside Pakistan, American has killed MORE innocents than the Taliban, Alqaeda, ISIS, Senola Cartel and all other terrorists groups COMBINED! AMERICA also used 'double tap'. i.e bomb innocents, then people who come to help those innocents are bombed as well (one e.g the Iraqi journalists van video). Before lecturing us, please CLEAN up your own house

(2) Have you watched your media? How many times do white terrorists get away? They are never called terrorists, but 'mental', deranged or disturbed individuals... They have killed MORE PEOPLE in America than any of the above terrorists COMBINED (excluding 9/11).

Finally, we know many times YOU PEOPLE created and supported terrorists too. Its all in your history books. You made Osama Bin Laden a hero. Taliban were angels according to you. You have tried to kill heads of states (and succeeded as well). You have toppled regimes in stable countries like Iraq and Libya, and created chaos and more terror, yet you have NO SHAME.

Stop lecturing us. We have more experience in this. 80,000+ innocent souls have been lost due to YOUR STARTED war here. Many of our army jawans have laid their lives (you took some too btw), many citizens have lost limbs. So please cut the crap and get lost. Stop invading countries. Stop dictating terms to others

Unfortunately, they have a stronger case of safe heavens against us...Afghanistan is not fully controlled...bla,bla.bla...
While Pakistan is relatively very secure with professional and one of the best army...
As must I hate to admit it, we do support the factions which we consider work in our interests...we have all the right reasons but for one side , it is a villian and for the other, it is a hero. The same logic goes with Indians in Kashmir and the same with NDS/Afghanistan...

I know you and we do not expect the Americans to eliminate those which are tools for them. The war crimes and destablizing actions of USA in the whole world can not be compensated or excused. The downfall for the USA is awaited in Libya,Iraq,Yemen and many more nations.

@CENTCOM also see the quote
Are you serious they will pay heed? The more I think on the USA cruelities, the more angry I get. USA literally helps India against us.
