A petition has been filed in Lahore’s civil court against singer Abrarul Haq for his latest wedding song Chamkeeli.

The petition, submitted by lawyer Rana Adnan Asghar, stated that the song is promoting a “disrespectful” attitude for men and women and therefore, it should be removed from YouTube. He also wants the singer to apologise for the song.

The track features Mehwish Hayat as Chamkeeli, an excited bride who has come to groom YouTube star Shahveer’s place for his rukhsati. Asghar claims that the song ridiculed the men.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 20.

Haq dropped Chamkeeli on December 7.

According to the claim filed in civil court, the song is an insult to both men and women.

Remember Abrar-ul-Haq's track that just came out this month which featured Mehwish Hayat as a super cool bride?

A petitioner, Adv Rana Adnan Asghar, has filed a claim against the song 'Chamkeeli' in civil court, Lahore. According to the claim, the song is an insult to both men and women. The courts have been requested to ban the track, removing it from YouTube.

"Men were humiliated by Abrar ul Haq on December 7... Not only men but women were also humiliated in the song," stated Adv Rana Adnan Asghar.

Civil Judge Ziaur Rahman has adjourned the hearing till December 21, seeking response from Abrar-ul-Haq, PEMRA and others.

The singer's other tunes such as 'Nach Punjaban Nach' also came under similar criticism. Previously, his rendition of 'Billo De Ghar' for Coke Studio was also taken down due to alleged copyright issues.

Abrar-ul-Haq has yet to comment on the matter.

So this guy studied law to ban a song because it hurt his manly ego.
Hahaha...you summed it up lady! I was like what a fragile manhood he has! Can come crumbling down due to a song

One day they pull of oxygen masks from dying patients and the next day they show that they try to uphold values of human dignity?
Yup my post was also hinting at that :tsk:

hindu type of dresses like gharara/lehnga
That isnt hindu style!

When I was a child in 80s, The "Lara" (groom) used to wear boski shalwar qameez with qulla safa or qulla cap and the "vauti" (bride) used to wear "gotay wali laal shalwar qameez".
You mean your village?

My grandparents = not hindu had gharara / lehnga..
My parents = not hindu had gharara / lehnga...
My cousins = not hindu had gharara / lehnga.

I am no longer sure which era you are from!

THAT has been there in many villages...Maybe yours lacked customs?

Definitely been there for 3 generations...Your village really is questionable! Where in Germany is it located?

they were NOT part of our local cultures just until 40 years ago.
You def are not older than 40...Meaning you have seen gharara and are just spiteful and full of hate for no reason!
