A Tribute to International Mother Language Day (21st February)

pathans punjabis sindhis balochis all accepted urdu as the national language

evens india accept hindi as the national language

but we muslim bengalis didnt
India does not have a national language. It is principal official language of India, used by central govt and its services.
State level govts use their respective language(bengali, tamil etc) as official language.

Thank god stupid people who wanted to make hindi as national language understood emotions, else it would have been quite bad like bangladesh.

.
Yes, the language movement was very selfish and self centered idea that initiated the fall of united Pakistan. Bangla was very much confined in Bengal yet Urdu was all over, more or less. Hence, it was right language for united Pakistan but who is going to put that in the cow dungish brain of Bengali nationalist.

What you bihari or former razakar, al badr and al shams lot have got from Pakistan after licking their foot (though still you lot are leaking) ??? You lot are still not welcomed in Pakistan.

Repatriated or stranded in Bangladesh, Biharis still divided and without a home - The National

Correct! Bangladesh is a People's Republic, not an Islamic Republic anymore. We're making good progress on all fronts, but could do better by getting rid of the crooks who rule our country! :D

Pakistan islamic republic? Kana Chheler Naam poddolochon! Namshorboshho Islamic republic..... Blame military rulers and corrupt politicians. Not islamic jurisprudence.....You are a decent poster, but you never miss the chance to bash islam... Avoid it...

Didn't your forefather migarted to East Pakistan after 47 from west Bengal? You refugee bharti reject convert?

lol what it has to do with rejection of convert??? My great grand father (maternal) was the lawyer of the king of Bardhaman, my grand father was 1st class 1st in his masters in arabic from aligarh uni. Though he completed law, he did not take it as profession as people needs to lie remaining with this profession. His younger brother was 1st class 1st in mathematics from kolkata uni, another brother was also completed law and became judge in supreme court during Pakistan era. All of their cousin those who migrated are also well educated.

None of them were illiterate or road side beggar. Due to their success and merit they were well known in their locality. N hisdus decided to kill all of them together. But though a hindu friend informed them about it and they need to flee and reached dhaka after remain hiding 17 days in forest. It has nothing to do with convert or anything as such. But still some of my mom side relatives living in west benagl but they are now poor and not successful and always ponder why their grand parents did not migrate.

N do not try to preach Islam now n then. My grand father was a very religious man and thought religion well to his children but was not a religious bigot like you. I know lots of bihari n also know to what extant they are religious. Do not bring religion everywhere.

Back to the main topics. What pakistan has given to you lot that you still like to leak their foot??

Bangladeshis are taught that Urdu was spoken by all West Pakistan and Bangla by East Pakistan.... !!!!!!!!!!!!

And they were taught right. Most of the west and North india/Pakistan are bilingual from their birth. They are fluent in hindustani along with their mother tongue. So you'd find gujrati, marwari, jatt, Sindhi, gujjar etc are speaking hindustani flawlessly, whereas a tamil or bengali would find it hard to speak and write chaste hindi/urdu.

I don't why some bangladeshis have this attitude of self flogging.

Guys, chill! :D

It's 21st February here! Happy Mother Language Day to you all!

(Edit: Removed -> Reason: lack of literature connoisseurs.)

When your well educated forefathers migrated to a country based on religion and when you are well proud of them on their religious base decision as well and also sights in the same length that those who left behind in W. Bengal curse right uptill now that why their forefather havn’t made this religious foresight in the first place like yours than what is the morally high ground left for you to barred other persons for discussing religion in length???

And about Zakir…I don't think..he licks foots of any country including Pakistan but yes to ISLAM definitely, if tomorrow Pakistan deviates what it stands initially at its inception…His supports too move elsewhere, simple…!!

As far as mother language day is concern….all bull-shit….since as far as Muslims are concerns the language of ‘Heaven’ is only Arabic not Urdu not even Bengali….so why fight on a matter which all of our forefathers have easily forgotten as of now…!!!

Muslims in West Bengal are in far better position than the same in Bangladesh, the migration from BD to WB is still going on when no body goes to BD from WB. So all these talks about people repenting their decision of not moving to BD are figment of imagination.

As far as the Pakistan is concerend, well less said the better.

The reasons for the partition were complicated. In fact, Jinnah personally never even wanted to see a Pakistan.

Many people were killed in the violence of 21st February. Followed by dozens of such incidents where many people died. Wouldn't you say that was extreme? Both Pakistan and India have many regional languages. But you don't see anything extreme over there. South Asia being so diverse would certainly have such issues.

But why so extreme against Bengalis, West Pakistan? Bengalis can be emotional and passionate. Killing people due to protesting doesn't help now does it? They are humans, and they have family, friends and relatives who cared about them.

Why slaughter unarmed professors during the war?

Human rights are there for a reason. Did they seriously think that the Western powers just put human rights standards for no reason? There are valid reasons.

On the other side of the coin, the Agartala Conspiracy was in fact true. Even Hasina admitted to it.

There is no such thing as nationalism in Islam. Islam tells its followers to be loyal to their family, society and nation. There was never any such thing as a 'Bengali Muslim' as a national identity to begin with. They are just Muslims of the Indian subcontinent with a distinct subculture just like Muslims in Punjab.

Perhaps a united India would have been better for starters(?) There are just as many Muslims in India as in Pakistan right now.

Lets look at it from the Bangladeshi perspective.

Why are we surrounded by all those f*i*l*t*h*y characters in the politics of Bangladesh ever since its bloody founding to begin with? The BNP right now is nothing but a cast of Zia's own shadow and a toothless opposition at that. The exact same people like Mir Nasir who ran the previous admin are still vying for power. This shows that Tarek has not changed his habits.

There's not a shadow of doubt that the current ruling AL is very well connected to the GoI on many levels. Even national security. The army is corrupt. And RAW is a big player in Bangladesh. Bangladesh as a vassal state perhaps?

See, when a country becomes dependent on another country, it fails to think for itself independently and thus unable to determine its own destiny on all fronts. India is not some super advanced nation from whom Bangladesh can derive huge benefits. Think of it as a caveman being enlightened by an alien from outer space.

Given that India is a third world developing nation with many issues to address, we would always be in the shadow of India and always behind it on nearly all fronts. Be it society, technology and development.

Seems like history repeating itself when Bengalis were low cast Hindus.

God save the nation. Amarder kopal asholei karap.
