Yes, PAF has a history of introducing new gen aircraft and capabilities in South Asia (Starfighter, F-16, PGMs) so in addition to AESA JF-17 and AZM I would really not be surprised if we have something else in store. Last CNS revealed a lot in his leaving speech on future procurement, unsure if ACM will do it too, but would be great to get an insight into the following areas where we need more modernisation
C-130 replacement
Long range SAM
New JF-17 squadrons
New medium weight fighter (if any on the table)
F-16V upgrade possiblity
But other than that PAF seems to be in very good shape
F-16s all still fairly modern
Every year a F-7/Mirage unit requips with JF-17
Modern medium range SPADA SAM
Modern medium and large UAVs
Modern AEW
Modernised Falcon 20
Modern ground radars
ACMI range
CCS modernised with dedicated F-16 and JF-17 units
Modern SAR helicopters
RAAD missile
Modern US/Pak PGMs
modern refullers
All in all not bad shape all of the above can easily serve another 20 years and than AZM should take care pf much.
Essentially I feel the main challenge will be IAF Rafaele and increasing obsolesence of F-16 fleet without AESA. This is I think the main challenge for PAF for next 10 -15 years till we get AZM online in numbers
