Voilent protests over the stupid youtube video & chalie hebdo's cartoons in Pakistan & getting productive tool(Youtube) banned for 3 years straight. Destroying & burning state's properties . What was that for if the culprits didn't live & breath in Pakistan?
very simple news need attention and there is no short of crimes and stories in 190mn public . can you line up and educate 190mn people ? every society have issues so pakistan does .I have this same question!
Whenever I observe Pakistani rites and cultures in song, TV and Dramas, I find them very modern, smart, stylish, educated and liberal. But in newspaper they often look as if they live in stone age.
I heard (OK read) many times on this forum from pakistanis that pakistan is much liberal country than portrayed on media. To be honest there might be some truth to it..otherwise you don't celebrate Sufis and songs of bulle shah(which sometimes criticises mullahs and extremists)..I also noticed that burkha culture is much less in pakistan when compared to india(my observation after watching common women on number of pakistani news channels).
However, the killing of Punjab governor and veneration of that killer, judges scared to even give out judgements give a completely different picture of pakistan. When did this degeneration in pakistan start? Or was there this extremism always present in pakistan but was out in open only recently?
I remember reading exactly mumtaz qadri like incident a while back . Arya samajis published a book called rangeela rasool in 1927. The publisher was killed by a young man named ilmuddin..British government sent him to gallows..some lakhs of people attended his funeral in Lahore(including Iqbal)..This incident shows there was extremism in pakistan even before independence (after this incident British govt formulated blasphemy law)
What is true?Has pakistan always been a society run by extremism and it's advocates or is it only a recent phenomena?
pakistanis are probably the most hospitable, but lets be honest, not many foreigners visit the country if you compare it to other countries, but those that do are valued and treated like part of the family, there is a great love for islam, because it is an underdeveloped country, ppl struggle daily and need religion in there life as a source of inspiration and to try and move forward, the issue is when they feel like this has been threatened they'll become over emotional and go to extreme lengths killing, murdering, raping and destroying, even though islam clearly forbids any of the stated, ppl feel there Love for Allah And the Prophet (SAW) is enough to carry out such actions.
The youtube ban was from PTCL to save their bandwidth as internet prices are too low in Pakistan and giving away unlimited packages for like $10 was not profitable for them.

no you are confused and ignorent about history first get to know the right historical facts then give your opinion ... GOT IT ?Either way, my point was that Indians killing prominent Indians is recorded in history. Countrymen kill each other for all sorts of reasons. Before raising the question on Pakistan, Indiana should 'learn' to pose the same question about themselves.
