I was thinking that BAF is a nice Air Force that wants to dominate the area of its home land and would do anything to protect it. For this they require a potent and qualitative Air Force that can handle the challenges that are going to face in future in ASIA region. So I think they should require a decent force with better equipments like, if they had followed a Plan from 2000:

30-33 F-7BGIs from China in 2000.

... Well the BAF has its own plan in accordance of its minute budget...

Your plan seems very rushed. 120 planes within 5 years is too much for bangladesh. A squadron(18 planes) of migs and sukhois and an integrated SAM network will defend bangladesh nicely.

F-16? MiG-35? JF-17? Brah...

I wouldn't recommend operating too many different platforms. At most, two would be good. And that from a very reliable supplier.

Therefore, I think MiGs and Sukhois would complement nicely with one another. But I personally prefer Western birdies.

This plan has disaster written all over it.
Why buy 4 sets of 30 aircraft from 4 different nations. The logistics will be a problem. They should learn form Pakistan's mistakes.High end fighters from USA are sanction prone.Better to go with the Chinese than mix 4 nations inventory together.

Personally I think 50-60 4.5 gen fighters will do for a force like BAF. The F-7s can compliment those
for another 10-15 years. Mig35 is out of question since it still a prototype. We can go for more
mig29s. But we should divert the source and go for Gripens and chinese fighters. Even after awami
dalals get ousted, we won't be able to get J10s till 2020. May be we can also look into the TFX and
KFX being developed by turkey and korea.

Read it, this will be from 2000-2015-2017s

Bro, 130 planes is way too much for our cash starved BAF. Apart from that we can not maintain
that many different platforms that you are coming up with. Every air force will reduce the no. of
platforms to 2/3 types. Even your PAF will only have chinese fighters and f-16s.

And to bomb and destroy Farakka together with all dams throughout border in a future convenient time you need at least 5/8 squadrons of Mig/Sukhoi/J10  . Besides your suggestion of one squadron of Mig/Sukhoi with SAM network isn't enough to protect even Dhaka/Chittagong, without setting visionary we can't build our forces. If israeli air force can afford 800+ aircrafts for an area of 20000 sq. km (illegal) land, why are we scared to afford Nishan_101's suggested number, his estimation is fine acceptable.

Bangladesh now has the resources to build a much better equipped military but no will.

It should be aiming by the end of this decade to have:

100 4+ generation aircraft
4-5 AWACS
2 destroyers
6 frigates.
4 submarines
200 modern battle tanks
24 attack helicopters

The cost will come to around 15 billion dollars

Over 10 years it is affordable without diverting many funds from other areas such as health, education and infrastructure.
