Look. There was a time when Europe absorbed a bit of Arab influence merely because it was the dominant culture / religion, etc... They were not trying to be Arab-Wannabes as such. They were merely copying from a richer, more affluent culture. In our time we get a lot of that, but it gets packaged as something else.
I suppose you have seen 'Al-Bakistan' car registration plates in Punjab, or at least their pictures that liberals seem to be fond of showing as proof of some of us as Arab-Wannabes? That is a symptom of borrowing from a culture that is more affluent, which is a normal thing. However, it gets twisted into presenting a case of a national malady of Pakistanis wanting to become Arabs.
